Hi all. Trying to plan our two days/one night at USF on 12/28 and 12/29.

1) we are planning to do USF on Saturday 12/28. Where is a good place to get lunch here? It looks like finnegans is the only sit down restaurant there, but I'm not sure we're too keen on having that kind of food. If you could just pick ONE place to eat for lunch, what would it be?

2) likewise, where is the best place to go for dinner on a saturday night? Would it be worthwhile to go to Emerils and then go back to the park? Do you need to change from park clothes in order to go to Emerils? Would we be too stuffed to want to go back to the parks for nighttime activities? We are staying at PBH, is there somewhere to go there for dinner that you'd recommend?

3) What time is the macy's parade? I haven't found anything on their website that says. Where is the best place to watch it from? How early should we stake out a spot? Maybe I should stake out a spot and DH should get some food from a quickservice place and bring it back? Help!

4) Do we need to make a reservation now for lunch at Mythos on 12/29 (because of the busy time)? Should we make a reservation when we get there?

5) Are there any fireworks/nighttime shows?

Thanks for any help!

Lisa

AS far as lunch at USF, we really enjoyed ourlunches at Lombard's Landing which is a very nice "sit down" restaurant. It's not a big deal to leave the park to eat at CityWalk. Dinner at Emeril's takes longer than the other restaurants. There are a lot of choices depending on the type of food you like.
Mythos is my favorite restaurant . There is a thread here that gives their hours during the holidays. They are open for dinner several nights. You might want to check it out.

I would do lunch at Margaritiville in citywalk. It's really good food and the prices won't break your budget. If you have AAA or AP discounts are accepted on food and merd. there. Don't skip the Nachos. YUM! Great steaks, sandwiches and burgers.

If your staying at PBH DON'T skip supper (southern talk for dinner>LOL) at Mama Della's! YUMMY X'2!! Have concierge make your ressies' when you arrive just hit star service button on your phone! They should take ressie's as late as 10 pm. You'll love this place and it's not exp like you might think. Entrees run 10-15 on the average and are HUGE and right size for sharing if your inclined too. Comes with family syle salad and tons of bread. Ressies' are strongly suggested and do not ge late! If your in the parks give yourselfs plenty of time to walk or get a boat back to the hotel. I was there and they were so busy I saw a family that was 20 min. late be turned away becaue they were just TOO busy and she was late because of waiting on the boats and did'nt give herself enough time. We will be at PBH your same dates I this is a do not miss for us.

Macy's parade is approx 5 o'clock or dusk. A good viewing area is said to be the old Kong attraction area. Look back a few post have been posted with great info on the parade route and times just in the last week.

I never make a ressie at Mythos. We always walk in about 11:15 and sit right down. Lunch has not been a big deal. I don't know how supper time is booked but lunch is relaxed and does'nt seem to ever get crowded it you can eat 11:30 ish.

Fireworks will be displayed at 9:55 nightly. If your at PBH the best place to view fireworks is the beach pool area. You will see a great view I think it's better than being inside the parks myself. If you have a deluxe pool view booked request a beach pool room view and if your lucky you can sit on your balcony (or view from the bathtubLOL) if you like. Have a wonderful and safe holdiay.:D

As for Macy's the best spot would probably for you not being an Annual Passholder right across the street from the tree in New York next to Kong. That is where the Tree Lighting takes place.

The fireworks start at 9:55 and any spot at either park your at will give you a good view. Me I would suggest the bridge connecting Amity to World Expo for Universal, and you can do one of 2 things at Jurassic Park. You can sit on the balcony at the Discovery Center and watch the show while you eat, or you can stand at the lagoon viewing area at the Discovery Center.
