Trying to make sense of the Fantasy verandah staterooms

Good afternoon! I spent time searching DIS over the past two days, trying to figure out which type of room in each category I would like to book on the Fantasy. The interiors and oceanviews seemed pretty straight-forward.

However, the verandah's... not so much!

I though I would want 4E as DCL lists it as 299' (same as the other Deluxe Family Verandahs), but everything I'm reading here says it's actually smaller than. Just to be clear, I'm referring to the space of the room.

After the 4's, the next largest room size with a verandah are the 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D, 5E (with 5E having the o/s verandah). Is this where the 4E fits in? Same size room as the Deluxe Verandahs, the 5's?

I removed the other questions I originally had as I found the answers to them a few minutes ago. Hope someone can enlighten me about the 4E. Thanks!!

I had one of the super extended 4E verandah rooms on the Dream, and the room itself is still the same size, it's just the verandah. Which btw, is AHHMAZING. Lol.

Is the 7A the same as the others except it only sleeps 3 instead of 4?

The 7A category is a "Navigator's Verandah". Usually has an obstruction of some sort on the verandah. So you don't get the totally full view when looking out the window.

Oh, that's disappointing. Are some rooms more obstructed than others?

Yes, but not fully obstructed. The obstruction is from the outer superstructure of the ship. Some verandahs have a very minimal one (just an upper or lower corner blocked), others are more.

I just called because I didn't realize that there is an obstruction. The representative told me that it shows Cat 7 however because our rooms are run of the ship so it may not be this category. I have to imagine that cruisers aren't actually requesting a cat 7 so I'll probably get stuck with these cabins.

Lots of people like the Navigator's Verandahs.
