Hello!!!

I am taking my twin 3year old girls on their first trip to Disney in a couple weeks! When we told them we were going, one of my girls very excitedly asked if we would all match?! (it's amazing what we do for our kids!) So I started checking out this forum and scouring the web for ideas... I now have 4 different shirt designs all ready to go (woo-hoo!). They are all some variation of a Mickey Mouse head.

I just started laying things out on t-shirts and I have a question... On the mens' shirts, easy. Kids shirts, easy. Womens shirts.... I can't figure out the right place to put the head on the womens shirts... If I put it where I think it should go, the ears fall right in a not so convenient place... If I lower it, I feel like we are wearing Mickey Mouse on our belly buttons... I've been searching the web specifically for picture of women WEARING mickey mouse head shirts, but I'm not having any luck.... I can't be the first person to do this!!

OR maybe I'm just over thinking it and should put it where I think it should go and let things fall where they may!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!!
Susan

Try making the Mickey (or Minnie) head smaller so the ears aren't as suggestive hahaha. Or, do princess silhouettes so that's not an issue :)

Are they full heads, with faces and whatnot? Or are they just the Mickey head shape/silhouette? If they're just the shape with no details, you could make them smaller and put multiple ones on the shirt so there isn't just one big centered one.

Out of curiosity, would you mind sharing the design you're thinking of using? That may help get better ideas of where to put it.

Thanks for the replies!!

There are a couple designs I have in mind - all head sillouhettes. Because the people going vary in size (preschool to adults) I thought those would be easiest to scale...

I've made a couple shirts - basically just trying on the shirt to get an idea of where a good placement might be and then hoping for the best :) In general, I'm learning go a little higher... I'm thinking maybe I've been over thinking! This approach seems to work for the one I did, so may try it on the next. The first one I did is all animal print heads. I found a bunch of different prints, and used Heat and Bond to attach to the shirts before sewing in place. The next several will all be iron on transfers...

I am trying to figure out how to post pictures... Once I do, I will post the next couple that I'm working on. Unless somebody has a more scientific method, I will continue with my "try it on and get it close" approach!

Thanks again!

Maybe put it on upside down with writing that says "if you can read this, flip me over?" :D

I would position Mickey higher on the women's shirts. Maybe w/ the ears right at the collar. Anyway, that is where I would start. That way the ears are higher than the women's unmentionables.

Cut a Mickey out of paper and pin to a shirt and then try it on and see how that position works.

I like having a small Mickey head high on the left side for a woman's shirt -- any adult, for that matter, with matching text on the back.
