Hi All,

A friend of mine just contacted me about planning a trip to Disney. Of course, they are planning to go the first week of August and are pretty much clueless! You know, the "What else is there to do besides Magic Kingdom?!" AH! Anyway, she just sent me another message asking about the Disney Dining Plan. Does anyone know of a simple but informative source for information about the Disney Dining plan? I don't really want to overwhelm her, but just get her the basic info especially explaining the differences between the quick service and basic plans. I guess I technically could explain it all, but there must be something out there to help first timers, right?!:confused3
Thanks in advance!!!

Just e-mail her a copy of the Dining Plan brochure from the Disney World site, and then I guess you can send her here to read the Sticky.

I agree.....I think the Dining Plan brochure is a good source and explains the plan very well :goodvibes.

Also, if you mean they are going this August, you may want to suggest that they look at what reservations they can get before adding the DDP or DXDDP. If they can't get the reservations they want, then those may not be the best value for them.

Send her a PDF of the brochure for the plan she wants or the two plans she is trying to decide between (they are available on Disney's website, www.disneyworld.com) and if she wants a plan that includes table service meals, explain ADRs to her. They can still get some ADRS most likely, but the odds on popular places aren't good.

So, I'm a cruiser and have never done the DDP. I figured this will give me the same feel as a cruise, not having to worry about food. So we are going to go end of Aug, one day per park, maybe 1 extra day for MK. Are ADR's Advanced Reservations? I was wondering what would be the ideal places to eat in each park, assuming you could get in?

I would repost as a new post assuming you haven't already . . . have you looked online yet to see what types of ADRs are available? You'll still have a lot of choices, but maybe not the super-popular ones. Do you only want to consider park dining or would you consider resorts too?

I think i will do that. I have been trying to look at menus and such but it just seems so overwhelming, it's hard to know what the must eat places are. Thanks for the tip!
