Hello everyone,

Ive been trying to get ahold of my DVC Guide in California for about a week now, Ive left messages and no phone call back. I know hes in his office as his voice mail message changes every day. I need to book my week for California for January while there is still rooms left and the airfare flying from Calgary to LAX is really cheap right now and only lasts till the end of the week...

Grrrrr... I dunno what to do.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks :confused3

How do you change your guide? Ours has been ignoring us/not returning our calls. I am a lot irritated.

I'm confused! Are you trying to add-on points and then use them to make a ressie, or are you just trying to make a ressie? Ressies are made through MS, not your guide. If you are trying to add-on and cannot get him/her to return calls, call the main number and ask to speak to a manager.

I am a new member and since my downpayment isnt paid off yet my guide was going to book it for me since MS wont for me.

Now ive been trying to get ahold of my guide for over a week and no return calls, Im getting fed up with DVC and I havent even been a member for 2 months yet.

Anyone know the main number for the DVC office in California the one at DIsneyland?

Thanks

Don't get fed up with DVC...your situation isn't normal. Most often, you don't have much to do with your guide after your initial purchase (unless you are wanting to add-on). BTW...I certainly don't know all the DVC "rules", but I wonder if maybe your guide promised you something that really cannot be delivered. It does sound like your guide is "ignoring" you....I wonder if you really cannot make a ressie until you have finished paying off your downpayment. I don't know....I really am just guessing....but, it does seem like your guide is avoiding you. I would definitely call and ask for a manager. Go to disneyland.com and I bet you will find the main number there.

Good luck!!

You have not paid your down payment for 2 months???
You consider yourself a member?????

I'm not sure about initial purchases - but with our add-on - we were told we could not access our points until the down payment was made in full. Maybe this is different with contracts sold out of CA?

Your guide does not do that kind of work, he is a salesman only.

Unless he promised. But, it sounds to me like his guide promised something he either cannot or will not deliver. Are you sure he/she intended for you to not have your downpayment paid by the two month mark? Either way, he/she doesn't need to avoid you.

Not trying to give the OP a hard time, but "paying off a downpayment" means you didn't make a "downpayment." Interesting that DVD allows this... I'll have to try it next time I buy a house. "Oh, that 10% downpayment... Yeah, I'll give you 10% of the 10%, OK?"

As far as my downpayment is concerned, I have allready paid $500 US, and have another $2700 due by Jan 15th 2006. My Guide told me he could make a reservation for me so that id have something for January. I was under the assumption he could but today I was told otherwise by a Manager.

They are going to call back tomorrow and work some things out. So im keeping my fingers crossed :)

IMO
You will not be in the System until you make your down payment(entire amount), as soon as you give the enitire down payment you will become a member.

Guide or Manager can not make a reservation on points that are not in the system.

You can start booking reservations shortly after becoming a member but can not stay(on points) until after closing.

But I have been wrong plenty of times.

Hey you are the guy that was mad at Disney because they would not finance you.

Now you are "fed up" with DVC because you can not book a stay prior to paying the full down payment...

Good luck I hope you get things worked out.

I have a reservation booked for the end of November and we are allowed to stay on points and we won't close unti later in December (projected anyway) it could be sooner but they allowed me to make reservations and know that I haven't closed yet.

Of course this is through Disney not resale.

I think the OP also purchased through Disney, but one difference is that Cobbler is booked into SSR, a DVC resort, and they have a little wiggle room there with developer points. The OP wants to book into a Disneyland resort, where no DVC resort exists, so it is technically a trade out.

Plus, I am also assuming that if Cobbler has financed the purchase, that the down payment has already been met in full, even though the actual contract has not closed.

Yes you are correct I have financed and I have paid the down payment in full.
