Trying to Find a Certain Poster...Any Ideas?

Howdy, Folks

There's a poster framed near the restroom area of the big Mickey store at DD. DH and I have been trying everything to find and buy it. We've tried every Art of Disney store at all the parks with no luck.

The artist is Akira Yokoyama. It was done in 1985. The title on the poster itself is "Summer Vacation of Dreams and Magic." However, I did find a German website with it listed -- although sold out -- and it was titled, "Art of Mickey Mouse." The picture is intended for our bedroom. It's a shot of the castle with a giant cloud over it in the shape of Mickey's head...so perfect for dreaming!

I've tried everything I know to do, eBay, tons of disney sites, tons of art sites, tons of poster sites. I'm just at a loss.

Any ideas or suggestions where to turn next?

Thanks so much for your reply!

I was able to contact the German website's counterpart in the UK and was told the poster is out of print and they highly doubt they'll be receiving any more of them.

However, I did contact the store where I saw the poster and spoke with a really nice fellow about purchasing it. He said the store wasn't in a position to do this since it isn't considered "merchandise," rather it's owned by Disney, but he put me in contact with "corporate" Disney who would be in more of a position to work with me. I contacted the group I was told to last night, and I've already gotten back an email that they're considering it and will get back to me during business hours.

Hopefully this will work!

We have a framed picture we were about to list on ebay. We did a yahoo search and found a 2006 posting you did looking for this same print we have by Akira Yokoyama. Are you still in the market for a disney original?

OMG! I have also been looking for this poster since my trip to Disney this past January, and just found the DISboards on Google.

If anyone else has any other ideas on how I might be able to locate - have tried Google, Ebay, nothing and more nothing.

I can't believe I found this thread again after I installed the DISboard app.
I actually just got back from WDW tonight and I had actually stopped by the Art of Disney store to ask about it. They suggested I find a picture of it and call a Disney fine arts store to see if they could help me find it ...
Still looking and hopefully will someday find it!!

THANKS Yes, I'm working with them to see how they can possibly ship it from Japan since it's framed. I am just hoping they figure out a way!!
