I have been to Disney over 30 times at various times of the year. However, I have never been in Novemeber. How busy are the crowds the week of Thanksgiving or a couple of weeks leading up to Thanksgiving? Should I wait until the first couple of weeks of December?

I have been durring the actual week of Thanksgiving and I thought it was pretty busy. I prefer to go the week after Thanksgiving. Not alot of people take their kids out of school at that time since they were just out for a few days the week before. However Disney comes first with us:lmao:
We have been there twice that at that time and really enjoy it. But that is just my opinion.

best time, week after til week before christmas. no crowds, mild weather, christmas displays. January is awesome as well, week after new years. Sept oct is also quite nice. those are the best times

I live within driving distance of WDW and think that November is one of the best times to go!

Early November is a great time. It is not too crowded and the weather is great that time of year. In general not too rainy and cool.

Have a great trip!

Any time when kids are out of school is the worst time to go. So if you don't have kids or can take them out of school, that's when you want to be there. The week of Thanksgiving is very crowded.

Mid Sept through Oct is the best time to go if you don't want any crowds.

I have NOT been in November, but my niece went last Thanksgiving. She was terribly disappointed in the crowds and what they missed due to them. She is going in October this year and I am so excited for her. My favorite times of year, by experience, are:
1.) Second and third week of December
2.) The month of October
3.) The month of February

My vote for the "best time" hands down is December. The ambiance, the crisp feel of the air, the holiday excitement, the lights, MVMCP, the special fireworks, the Country Bears dressed in Christmas attire - as well as everyone else, the special Illuminations in Epcot, the lighting of the trees, oh, my... I am rambling but I cannot help myself. We are gearing up for another December trip and I am a little enthusiastic. Sorry.

Thanks for all of the advice. I definitley think it will be early to Mid December for my family trip!

Thanks!

I was wondering how early WDW puts up christmas decorations? Also is there a big difference between the beginning of Nov and the week after Thanksgiving (weather wise) I am so torn..I REALLY want to see the decorations for Christmas, but I know my son would love to use the pools at the resort.
Also I have heard that during fall (is Nov considered fall?) it is common to find rides that are closed. Is there a way to find out which rides are going to be closed ahead of time (how soon before)

Of all the times that we've been, I would have to say the first week of December was the best. The parks were all decked out for the holidays, but there were no crowds. Now that our kids are older, it is tougher to pull them out of school.

xrayvin,

Depending upon the age of your kids and the weather, they still may be able to use the pool the first week of December. When we went, the temps were in the mid-80's. Although I thought the water was too cold to swim, the kids had a blast while I sat on the edge and stuck my feet into the pool. They would swim over to me, step on my foot and I would raise my leg and lift them out of the pool. The kids would run around and go down the slide, then swim back over to Dad's elevator service.

Thanks

Thank you so much for the reply! I am SO excited to see all the beautiful decorations and having the holiday feeling while enjoying a Floida winter! I think DS (4) will be just fine in 80 degree weather.

Hi - I've been during that week. It was busy on Thanksgiving day and the day before, but the rest of the week was pretty quiet.
