I’m trying to buy magic bands for my upcoming trip. I saw you get a discount when you buy in advance with the room. So I clicked the band I wanted and complete but don’t see how to actually order and pay for the band it just takes me back to the select screen. Does it require me to get the bands for everyone on the room before I can check out? My parents were planning to buy there’s now but I hadn’t decided yet what I wanted. Also is there a way to ship theirs to their address or will they all come to me because I booked the room?

Yes you order all at one time. That's why it keeps going back with out a purchase step.

You only get to have your resort MBs shipped to 1 address. You get to pick the address to receive your MBs order.

If you only order one, then that is all you will be able to buy on that reservation. No one else will be able to order after you place your order, it's a one and done. You have to order them all at once. If you have multiple reservations, you can go into the other reservations and order more there. You will add to cart then you complete the check out process, you have to pay at the time of selection. And as others have said, they will be shipped to one address, unless it is within a specific window of time, then they are shipped to the resort listed on the reservation and you pick them up at check in (at least that is how it used to be done).

Thank you!

So I have a couple stays doing a split stay. If I ordered my parents on one hotel could I have those shipped to their address and then do the rest of my family on the other hotel to my address? Or is it just the address of the person who booked the hotel which would be me for all of them.

I think that plan would work. The one obstacle might be how those stays were booked. Like if you are lead guest on one with your address and parents lead guest with their address on another… you are golden. You could just order for your family/address and your parents do the same. If you need to change the guest and address on one reservation, it could potentially change your discount or offer.

So I’m the lead guest on all so I guess it won’t work doing it that way.

Well at least you could do the orders separately. Just have to decide how to get the bands to parents. Are they far? You could mail or just bring with you to WDW.

They’re 2 hours away so it might be tricky seeing them before the trip. Unless I want to drive up and back with the kids by myself in a day but that sounds exhausting lol.

They are going to get there early morning and are planning to go into a park that day we aren’t. What would be the best way for them to get into the park without the magic band? Stop at will call for a plastic card ticket? I’m assuming a room key card wouldn’t work on the park?

The ‘Key to the World’ card would work for the room and also attach their ticket to it for entering the parks and even lightening lanes. They could pick that up either at the park or their resort. Even if you are the lead guest they can still help your folks before you arrive.

They can use their smartphone instead too. It’s not too hard to set up from ‘Magic Mobile’ within the WDW app. For iPhone it works at the tapstyles without even opening the phone, just tap your phone. There’s a button inside the WDW app to unlock hotel room door.

Where would they get the key to the world card? My parents and technology don’t mix lol. I have to walk them through everything so I think using the phone as a card would definitely confuse them

They could get it at the front desk at the resort. WDW lets any guest in the room check-in and set up the card(s), even if the lead guest has not arrived yet. If the room isn’t ready yet at that point, the desk can still help them put their park tickets onto a KTW card. The other option would be at the park, the downside is the guest services window by the ticket counters can have long lines especially around park open time. If their plan is to drop luggage at resort before going to parks, the front desk there can surely help them.

Probably not a good option but If for some reason your parents were in the area the day before, guest services at Disney Springs could also help put their tickets on a KTTW Card.

Thanks! I’ll tell them to go to the front desk that seems the easiest option for them

One note: if you order parents’ MBs on one reservation and your family’s MBs via the other reservation but all of you are listed on both, you’ll have to specifically Decline MBs for anyone on a given reservation who isn’t getting a MB via that reservation. Don’t worry, though, MBs ordered through one reservation will still work for the other reservation, because they’re linked to the person’s MDE profile, not to just the one resort stay.

You don't have to order MBs for everyone, just decline the ones you don't want.
