Trying to book a room- "We're working on it..."

My wife and I are new to DVC, bought in last fall and have our first trip coming up this May, so still lots to learn but have been having an issue with the website and was wondering if others have had the same issue in the past.

We had some flight issues and needed to rebook and ended up booking a day earlier so trying to add on a day. We are staying at SSR in a Standard Studio and when I check availability I see that the other day is available (we started looking middle of last week and have tried everyday to book since). I go to modify my reservation and at the end I get the "we're working on it" screen. I've also tried to just book the 1 night as a separate reservation and then merge them but get the same screen right before booking.

I've tried calling MS, but I think we all know how well that turned out for me, and I did chat with someone who just said to clear my cookies and cache and try using Incognito mode on Chrome, which also didn't do the trick.

Have others had a similar issue? Should I just keep trying? Put in a waitlist?

Lol, I hate to admit it but it is funny in a maniacal way seeing new people encountering the working on it screen for the first time. You are in for a treat, my friend, I hope you like the cute cartoon on that screen because you will have it memorized within a few months.
 
Clear your cookies & cache and restart your computer. Then try using an incognito tab. You can also try another browser.

If that doesn't work, then log on again and sign out / logout. Then try again.

If none of that works, there's probably an issue with your account and you will have to call IT support to get it fixed

Some have reported these problems are often the result of a sign out problem. Try to sign out after every session - try not to let your session time out & do not just close your browser when you are through. I don't know if that will work for you, but it has for me. Good luck!

Thanks for the response. I tried clearing the cookies and cache and incognito mode but got the same result and so far have tried on my work computer, personal computer, and my wife tried at her work as well so maybe you're right and it's an IT issue. I just don't have the patience to sit on hold if calling IT is the same as calling MS, my job is answering phone calls all day as it is so reading others being on hold for hours just sounds awful. I'm going to just keep trying since we still have a month and a half and I'm sure it will all work out. Thanks again.
 

When you called MS, did you ask them to fix/modify the reservation for you? Were they unable to do that? That seems like something they could have fixed in a matter of seconds.

To be honest I didn't get through on the phones. I called while I was taking a break from work and told myself I was only going to give it 10 tries, and all 10 I got disconnected so I gave up and went back to work. I did read on these boards someone said to keep refreshing until the Chat feature comes up and that worked after less than 10 minutes and the CM I chatted with mentioned the cookies/cache and incognito mode but that didn't work. I should try calling when I'm not working as you're right it should be a pretty simple fix. Thank you.
 
Try to log in on your phone. My mobile browser sometimes works when like four computers and six browsers don't.

Downside is it ALWAYS makes me verify with an email code, ugh.

Thanks for the suggestion- my wife tried on her phone and got the same screen. I logged online and was able to get through to someone on chat pretty quickly today and they mentioned that there is a known issue with borrowing points on a resale contract so I would need to call into MS to modify the reservation. Oh well at least I know now to not just keep trying.

Yes the resale borrowing issue, only way is to call. Not sure why they cannot fix this issue. It would cut down on some call volume. People would probably only be on hold for 2 hours 45 minutes instead of 3 hours.

What does DVC say if anyone has questioned them about this? By reading seasoned members comments it seems it's an everyday thing. Any advice to get around it? Is it better to call to make a reservation?

If you are resale members (and it only affects certain ones) and borrowing there is no way around it, you have to call unfortunately.
 
Trying to book this morning and I just keep going back to the opening page.
This is so discouraging.
 
I finally go it......but I had to change my password because of too many times trying and not having it work :rolleyes:
