That's fine. We hadn't booked a hotel when I made the reservation, home phone no is no problem, but as you probably know, you need to input it using your telephone keypad, and it must be 10 digits - just drop the '0' from the beginning of the area code.
Start calling about 3 mins to midday, and hang up once you hear '....are closed', and press redial. Just keep doing it, it doesn't take long for them to answer, but still expect to be on hold for a few minutes after you have gone through the 'press one for etc...' (from memory it's 1 (unless you're staying at Swan or Dolphin), then 1 and 1 - it's asking whether you've been before, and how many times - but this is just market research, so it doesn't matter if you just press the first option).
When you get to a real person, tell them what you want as quickly as possible, they'll know the drill and won't be offended. Once it's booked, there are a few more questions to go through, so you can show them you're not rude at that point!
Good luck. I'm sure you'll get what you want!
