Trunk Bay

My husband and I will be on the Eastern next month and wanted to know if we should take the DCL excursion to Trunk Bay or do it on our own. I would love to hear feedback from anyone who has done either.

Did the DCL excursion and it went wonderfully!!!!! I was a first time cruiser and never even thought of going through anyone else. I wasnt even aware of this board at that time lol. All in all, the entire day went smoothly and was the most beautiful place I had ever seen. No matter how you get there.....just get there .

Hi Tracy!

We're on your cruise also! Last year we went to Trunk Bay on our own. We're glad we did mainly because it gave us more time at Trunk Bay. We actually saw the excursion people arrive, snorkel, spend time on the beach and then leave during the time we were there.
Since there are only two of you, you won't really save much money by going on your own, so cost isn't really a factor.

We did trunk bay twice, once in winter over new years and once in summer. both times went with disney group, only because we felt safer and that we wouldn't be left behind. once we did the ferry across, the other time the leyland sneed. only problem in winter was the conditions were not good and we couldnt stop at trunk bay because they are very protective of the coral reef, etc. and didn't want any churning up of the area, so ended up going to another site. Loved trunk bay though-- it is beautiful.
