Trunk Bay 5 Star Snorkel Questions

This excursion looks and sounds terrific. However, I definitely want to snorkel, DH just wants to lay on the beach, DD (age 6) may or may not snorkel, and DG may snorkel a little. Is this excursion a good choice? It sounds like the ride on the boat is beautiful and would be the ferry ride and a taxi ride somewhere else. How long do you actually stay there at Truck Bay? Anybody have any suggestions?

We did this excursion last May. The boat ride over is fun and informative. It's about an hour each way. A couple of the crew explain a bit about the islands. You select your snorkel gear (unless you bring your own) and you go right to Trunk Bay. There are three ways to get off the Leylon Sneed: (1) The Jacques Cousteau way, (2) Climb down the ladder right into the water way, or (3) they have dinghys that will take you over to the beach. One of the crew will take digital pictures of you and your family that you can have emailed to you. I think it was $10 for 2 pictures. They also have snacks and drinks you can purchase so you may want to bring some extra cash. You snorkel for about 1.5 hours which we found was plenty. The boat ride back seemed long but everyone was pretty tired. They serve a rum punch for the adults and punch for the kids. Lots of sun and sea air will do that!! Great excursion -- even my middle ds had fun. We found him snorkeling a bit farther ahead of us which was funny since he told us he didn't want to snorkel at all! Hope this helps.
