At one time I had looked into buying a Disney timeshare and was told the leanth of ownership time was for only 20 years is this true?

NO- that has never been true.

The first 6 resorts (OKW, VB, HH, BWV, VWL and BCV) all expire on January 31, 2042 (still another 34+ years). SSR expires on January 31, 2054 (still another 47+ years) and AKV will expire on January 31, 2057 (still another 49+ years).

No. If you buy into AKV it is good untill 2057 and I think 2054 for SSR. Someone correct me if i'm wrong.
