So the people on her recommended that I give True Blood another try and I did. I got through the ahem parts and now seem to be addicted to the show. I'm waiting to see what on earth happened to Lafayette because there was a hold up with Netflix.... mail comes at 1 & kids get home at 3 which leaves me very little time for my fix... it better be in the mail today. Tell me, was it the gov't guy who got to him, will he be ok.... wait don't tell me, yes tell me, no don'tpopcorn::

I'm going in the oposite way. I LOVED the books but I'm slowly losing my taste for the show. It's just not the same 'feel', in fact it's taken a complete turn from the timeline of the books and the atmosphere. I am looking forward to the next cycle as I hope they bring it back in line, but if it doesn't I'm probably through with the tv series.

I have to separate the books from the show. Love them both but not fair to compare them.

I read the books first and really disliked the first half of season one on TV. Eric has spiced up the show a bit for me though; love his humor ;).

i like both the books and the show. I had to read the books first because I didn't get HBO. But now I do so I've watched all the seasons. I agree, I don't see them as the same thing.
Like I love show Bill but hate book Bill.

Never read the books, but I've been a die-hard fan of the show.

That being said, I was a little disappointed in the way the show's been going. WAY too many characters, sub-plots, crazy story lines (Lafayette particularly) etc. I wish they'd just focus on the main characters.

But I am ECSTATIC that Joe Mangianello will be a regular next season. THANK YOU, HBO!!! :lovestruc

That's pretty much the way I feel. I didn't mean I don't like the show because I like the books, I like the books and I liked the first season and a half of the series. But after they deviated from the tone of the books I was willing to give it a chance but they put in thier own time line which just makes the series seemed disjointed and becauase they added all these charecters and plots it's so crowded and the story lines just aren't developed.

Anyway, I'm hopeing they fix the plotting and try to at least bring back some of the original humor and themes of the story.

I'm addicted to both the books and the show... Alexander Skaarsgard is soooo good looking - it should be illegal for him to wear clothes!

Charlaine's other books are fantastic as well. She's quickly become one of my favorite authors.
