Troubles with AAA tickets? E-ticket and Magic Morning?

I remember reading that some people had trouble with Fastpass or even admission with tickets they bought from AAA...is that true? I'm not sure if I should buy from AAA, eTicket, or just hurry up and buy from Disney and have them mailed.

What about eTickets? Unless we're way ahead of schedule (and between working a half day and the people I'm traveling with, that's not likely :) ), we are going to enter the park for the first time on Saturday morning, and I think we'd like to also do our MM then. Would having an eTicket slow us down at the gates for Magic Morning?

(We'll be walking distance from the park so we won't need the free parking we would get through AAA. :yay: )

I haven't heard anything about people having problems with tickets.

The e-ticket from disneyland.com is so simple. You buy it, the PDF is emailed to you. You can keep the email, you can keep the PDF on your computer, and you can print that PDF and put it with your vacation documents.

[When you buy, if you aren't bringing your computer with you, be sure it goes to an easily accessible email (gmail, hotmail, etc...just not something like outlook that you can't just get to from a random computer), so if you lose the printout, you can just get another printed.]

You take the printout to the gates, they scan it and out pops your proper ticket, and you go on your way. As long as it's a 3 or more day ticket, it will have the MM encoded onto it. The people who were slowing things down on our MMs were people like us, with APs staying onsite...the CMs had to hit an override button to allow entry, and that took an extra step. Those with tickets with the MM encoded went right on in.

...and honestly, the web price from Disney is the same as many discount places. I just checked Getaway Today's prices and they are exactly the same as Disney's posted prices. So I'm just going with Disney.

I've used both with no trouble. We used our AAA last summer to get free parking and we got MM. We then upgraded them to APs. In Jan. we used the E-ticket for my boys for one day and it was very easy too. :thumbsup2

We used both with no problems. The only exception was once my DH ticket wouldn't scan at Indy and the same tix had problems entering DCA. But that has happened with Disney tickets as well as AAA. We went to guest services who claimed it was the way AAA printed them, but AAA tickets and DL tix are exactly the same media and print. In fact my travel agent later told me that Disney travel is the ones who printed the tix and sent the package to them for us to pick up. (I believe her because we had to wait to get the package in.) So whoever told me that it was AAA's fault for the way the printed it was mistaken or full of it. Either ticket will be fine and if you have a problem go to guest services, they will fix it and worst case scenario, issue a new tix.

So if I buy the Eticket I bring that paper eticket right to the main turnstiles where I would be if I had a normal ticket? I don't have to go somewhere else to get them exchanged? I can line up in the normal lines in the morning? Thanks

Yes, exactly. Directly to the turnstiles you go! :thumbsup2

Thanks so much I was afraid to purchase that way thought I might have to go and wait in another line or something Thanks a lot.!!!:goodvibes

Yep, with the straight-from-disneyland e-tickets you're good to go. Buying from other places, like getawaytoday, you have to exchange vouchers for tickets, but not when you buy direct.

Oh, and I've even had problems with my Disneyland issued AP not working for FP machines...:rotfl: It's an easy fix; either the CMs at the machines might help, or you go get a "fast pass ticket" from City Hall, or you just wait until you hop to the other park (allowing it to be scanned into that machine and sort of reset) or just wait to the next day. I haven't any AP totally die; they just pretend like they weren't scanned at the entrance that day...my AP lies sometimes. :rotfl:

Thanks, all! Excellent idea about sending the eTickets to webmail as well (even though I MAY bring my computer...though if I do, I won't be getting any sleep during my afternoon breaks...an addict? me? :rolleyes1 ).

I know my mom was interested in going with AAA but I don't really care either way, so I'll talk to her. :) She was saying what a great discount AAA had, but I don't know if she was actually comparing to Disney's advance purchase price or the gate price....though I'm thinking it was the gate price. :upsidedow

Thanks again!
