Why on earth wouldn't you just ask the Fastpass CM (or any CM there) at the attraction to override the machine? They do it all the time. That's what they are there for. You don't have to walk to GR at that moment because you couldn't get a Fastpass. Then, on your way out of the park for the day or if your route during the day takes you near the Guest Relations office inside each park, you can stop in and have it taken care of.
During our last trip we waited for over 30 minutes at the office just to ask a question (they claimed that I have no more $$ on my room-key account although I've just put $500 earlier in the morning). The trip from CRT, and back, the wait and the process of straigthening everything out took about 90 minutes!

When you are doing something like this, you have no choice but to go to GR immediately. When you have a Fastpass problem, you
don't have to run to GR immediately. One thing is a necessity requiring immediate attention, the other isn't.
