Trouble with AP's in fast pass machines?

The other one just sends the pass thru and advances the turnstile like they do for children under 3. If the CM doesn't do it the correct way (the first way), the computer doesn't realize your pass has been used that day and you won't be able to get any fastpasses with it.

That's what happened with my husband. There was nothing wrong with his pass. They fixed it at guest relations in a couple of minutes and he was able to get FP's.

...That is not true. Even walking back and forth from even the nearest FP machine to Guest Relations will take 15 minutes plus the lineup. Everytime this thing happen, you will lose at least 30 minutes of your time at the park. More if the Guest Relations was busy.

Why on earth wouldn't you just ask the Fastpass CM (or any CM there) at the attraction to override the machine? They do it all the time. That's what they are there for. You don't have to walk to GR at that moment because you couldn't get a Fastpass. Then, on your way out of the park for the day or if your route during the day takes you near the Guest Relations office inside each park, you can stop in and have it taken care of.

During our last trip we waited for over 30 minutes at the office just to ask a question (they claimed that I have no more $$ on my room-key account although I've just put $500 earlier in the morning). The trip from CRT, and back, the wait and the process of straigthening everything out took about 90 minutes!

It was probably Safari Steve working at City Hall that day. ;) When you are doing something like this, you have no choice but to go to GR immediately. When you have a Fastpass problem, you don't have to run to GR immediately. One thing is a necessity requiring immediate attention, the other isn't.

The APs are no different then the hopper passes. If you keep them in the cardboard case that they come with, you should never have a problem. LOL ::MickeyMo

There's usually a CM standing by the FP machines. If you explain to them that your pass isn't working, they can manually issue you an FP. Not to worry though ... the lines are very short in December ... so you may not even need to use them :p At least that was our experience last December.

I know, most of my "problem" is with the fact that I'm a worry-wart. I worry about everything (and part of my job as well, unfortunately).

A reminder, something should always come out of the machine. If not, see a cast member right away. It is possible that a valid Fastpass was issued and got jammed inside and now you will have to wait an hour or possibly two hours before you can try again or get a Fastpass for some other ride.
