Trouble with 3x rewards from Chase Visa

Has anyone else had trouble getting Chase to honor the 3x rewards that were earned during the promotion in January, February and March? The extra points should be posted to my account by now but are not. I sent Chase an email inquiring about it and they replied that I did not exceed the threshold for January or February, and March will have to wait to be calculated until the next statement.

I checked my statements and I exceeded the threshold for February. I just sent another message asking why February's activity is not being considered. I don't recall this promotion being only for gas, dining and groceries but maybe I am wrong.

Anyone else have a problem?

I was offered a similiar promo a while back but it was 5X rewards on gas, groceries, airfare, and dining. I earned a ton of points. The first month they did not post to my account so had to call and they said I hadn't signed up for the promo...but I had...so they fixed it.

No problems here other than the 3x rewards don't show up on the statement in which the purchases were made. They appeared on the next statement. There were also no restrictions on what purchases I made. I had charges for our cable bill, cell phone bill, groceries, gas, hotel charges, and kids lunches, everything was part of the 3x reward (my threshold was $800).

No problems having them show up. Just be sure that you are looking at the charge dates. My statement overlaps two months so even though the statement I just got had a balance over my threshold ($3000), I didn't qualify because some of the purchases were actually for the first few days of April as well as March and those did not qualify.

THanks for the replies. I received a response this morning that they are checking into it. I did check the dates of the transactions and February is definitely over the threshold but not January. We'll see what they say.

They reviewed my account and found their error. They corrected it immediately and awarded me an additional 20 points. I'm happy with this outcome!

I'm having the same problem as the OP. I've called and they've said they are checking into it, but so far nothing. I spent well over the $300 threshold. I should be getting a lot of bonus points. We'll see what happens. If they don't honor it, I'm going with a different card.

I just got an offer...3x bonus points for any charges over and above $3000 a month! I think they have me confused with the Rockefellers...

I ended up calling a few times to get answers and finally got someone who took the time to do the calculations and explain it clearly.

My statement runs from the 10th - the 11th of each month (or there abouts).

So on my statement I would see the rewards I earned for the month 'normally' and then (after the first month) the bonus rewards started showing up but they didn't make sense based on the amount I had spent. Turns out that even though my statement runs mid-month they calculate the bonus rewards by calendar month so my statement ran Jan 11th - Feb 10th but the bonus rewards that showed up were just for Jan 11th - Jan 31st (for the first batch, then all of Feb for the 2nd batch). Basically nothing matched up but once the person explained it to me it made sense and I'm keeping all of the statements to make sure I get all of the bonus $$.

So when they look at our charges, do they go by the transaction date or the posting date? Someone above mentioned transaction, but I just want to be sure because I have a lot of charges where they are transacted on the last day of a month and posted on the first day of the next month. Thx.

i get these offers from time to time and they seem like such a bust. I dont understand what it is- I charge nearly everything, but my bonus points are next to nothing.

I just got another 3x offer for April to July! However, we also have a Disney debit card and they are stopping the program on July 15. that's where we got most of our points from. I used it for just Bout everything!

I get my statements electronically and the offers come snail mail.

Got the April to July X3 with a $500.00 threshold. Do you think they will give us the X3 for my trip pay-off to Disney? Just wondering since it"s not technically just a hotel purchase.

I don't think so; I think it's similar to the "pin code" thing with Disney...very random. I sometimes get them e-mail and sometimes snail mail.

That's a really good question! If they are going to give the bonus points on the trip pay-off I'll pay mine off by July 15th too and get to extra points. My current offer is for 5x rewards over $700 (with the price of gas these days we will be spending almost that a month on gas along).
