I'm obviously excited enough to be still up at 3:30 a.m.
We've tried all sorts of "formulas" and this is one that works best for times we just can't relax:
1. We quit fighting it.
2. Upon arrival check in, get a glimpse of the castle (if you must, we do), have lunch, go back to room, unpack and fall into a coma. Get up later that evening go to DD have light dinner, go back to room and, yes, sleep.
3. Next morning we're revved and ready to go.
But if you're desperate for sleep, here's a few things you might want to try:
Pretend you're on the start of your vacation and you begin with a "SPA" day.
1. No caffeine whatsover after 5 p.m. (drink lots of water instead throughout the day).
2. Take a brisk 20 minute walk around neighborhood or go workout.
3. Take a very, warm, sudsy bath w/ bubbles (read a fiction novel and play some E-Z music -- no disney books, no disney music -- that'll just rev you up again).
3. NO TV. Don't even turn it on. Need noise? Play Christmas music right now.
4. Play a soundscape tape that you like.
5. Be romatic if you can. That can set the whole vk mood.
Hope some or any of this helps?
P.S. some say hot choccolate can work (but it does have caffeine).
Good luck w/ your trip.
