Trouble picking a resort

So my wife and I will be taking our 1 1/2 year old daughter to Disney for the first time in late Feb. We were originally going to do the Royal Rooms at POR but our daughter is becoming a little bit of a light sleeper. We decided we could swing a deluxe as long as we could have a balcony where we could go during the evening to relax and have a drink or two while she sleeps and also when she naps. Our daughter is usually asleep by 6:30/7pm at home. We aren't fans of OKW or Saratoga (doesn't scream Disney to us). We were dead set on WL until all of this craziness with construction and now the south wing being closed down. Only rooms now available are courtyard with bunk beds. So we narrowed our choices down to AKL and BC. I personally prefer the BC due to being able to walk to EPCOT and HS. With a stroller and a child that naps, it's a huge convenience. The problem I have with BC is the 'standing balconies' half the rooms have. I know I can request a full balcony but there isn't any guarantee I would get one. I'm usually not a picky person lol. Anyone have any suggestions or thoughts on what you would do in my situation?

How about Yacht Club? You will get your full balcony there, along with the great location.

You know we were talking about the Yacht Club but wifey wasn't too keen on it. She thought it looked outdated and not as bright and kid friendly (which I kind of agree with). It might have to be something to look into though instead of being so picky lol

I would stay at yacht club. I stayed there in September and it was very nice. When I use to visit there for dinner I thought it was stuffy but once you're staying there you get over that fast. We all felt very at home there and loved it.

I would also research the Boardwalk Inn. The Epcot Resorts area is great with strollers. The Inn is great as well.

I would suggest staying at a monorail resort...It is really easy when you have a little 1 getting back and forth between naps and parks and what not. Our first trip staying on Disney property we stayed Contemporary with a theme park view. It was amazing sitting on the balcony at night watching the fireworks. Last year we stayed at Grand Floridian in 1 of their deluxe rooms and it was great having the extra room in that little alcove there. All in all I really like staying monorail resorts with young kids bc its so much easier with the stronger since our main parks are Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Next year we are planning to stay at the Poly...then when my youngest is older and can walk around the parks without a stroller we will look into the other deluxes like Beach Club and WL and AKL

Be careful with AKL this spring.....they are doing some room renovations and letters/emails were sent to inform guests of possible construction noise between 9am-5pm.

I don't think the YC is as kid friendly as the BC, either. I would go with the BC. Make sure to list the large balcony as your #1 room request. We went at a super busy time last year and had all of our room requests (upper floor, large balcony, close to lobby) met. Not sure if it mattered, but we checked in at 6:00 am (did not do online check-in).

I would go with YC too. Full balcony. The pool is great for toddlers and you are closer to the sandy area when you stay at YC. We stayed at BC with our toddler twins and loved walking to two parks. We got a balcony at BC but it wasnt very nice. Really I think the best with a toddler is the Poly, though you dont have a balcony guarantee there either.

We have kids and we enjoyed YC much more than BC. I don't understand the claim of it not being kid friendly at all.
But, I would check a little deeper into it, because they are undergoing refurbs now or will be soon as far as I know.

:offtopic: sorry to hijack this thread, lol, but I was just curious as to y you think the poly is the best resort for toddlers. We are planning on staying at the poly in 2017 and we have a toddler. We have stayed at contemporary and the grand floridian but wondering if their is something different about staying at the poly with a toddler than the other 2 monorail resorts, lol. Do they offer something for little kids that the other 2 resorts don't? Now I am really curious, LOL

I would think you'd be totally fine with any of the Epcot Deluxes(BC, BW, YC). All of those are wonderful choices and the area can't be beat for convenience!

Not that I know of! I just really loved the Poly, ha ha. Their new splash pad is great, and our room was the quietest of anyplace we have stayed. I didnt love the CR though the location with the option of walking to MK really makes it a great choice for the stroller crowd I would think. It's all personal preference between the three I think.

Yeah we LOVED the contemporary it was great staying in the tower bc once you took the monorail home you were inside so if it was raining or something you didn't have to go back out in the weather, lol...we loved it, plus if their was monorail issues we just walked to and from the MK, LOL. Then we only stayed at Grand Floridian last year bc we got an AMAZING deal, lol...we liked that resort as well...now I figure we have to stay at the Poly since we stayed at the other 2 resorts, lol. My goal is to eventually stay at all the Deluxe resorts. When my youngest is out of a stroller is when we will explore the non monorail deluxe resorts, lol
