Yes there's trouble in Downtown Disney. pirate:

Or at least there will be.

That's Trouble with a capital T and that rhymes with P and that stands for Pool. :scared1:

The new bowling alley to open in DTD (at the former Virgin Megastore location) will have not only bowling allies, but pool tables too.

That's Trouble that starts with a T that rhymes with a P and that stands for Pool. :scared1:

Are you saying there's a connection between pool tables and bad behavior, or that there will be too much T P in the little boys room? popcorn::

Uht oh! Better send in Prof. Harold Hill! (I love that show/movie/musical). And little Ronnie Howard was so cute!

But seriously, are there actually people who want to go bowling at WDW? I don't know about you, but I can wear someone else's stinky shoes at home.

Just had to give you props for quoting The Music Man. One of the best musicals of all time!

I'm not a huge bowling fan, but I think a lot of people will enjoy this.

I knew I had been memorizing jokes from Capt. Billy's Whiz Bang for a reason! :rotfl2:

We'll just put together a band, and..

Seventy six trombones led the big parade,
With a hundred and ten cornets close at hand...

and please leave my Shipoopi alone...

As for the bowling alley, I don't see us using it. I've bowled tenpin, and I actually injured myself last time I was using alley bowling balls instead of my own. And I don't plan on spending 16lbs of my suitcase allowance to bring one...

Will they decorate the place with Grecian Urns?

Eulalie McKecknie Shinn (the Mayor's wife) wants to know.

I really think it will be a hit. There is a splitsville in Tampa in a smaller venue (10 lanes instead of 30). It has a very hip cool vibe. The one in Tampa has a dress code in the evening on weekends. Its not what you guys are thinking.

That sounds good to me, especially in the winter when the parks close early.

Also, DH likes to sing "Trouble" and this would be a good excuse.

I think there will be lots.

When it comes to rain, you've basically two philosophies at WDW. Most DISers are of the "dance in the rain" persuasion. Then you have your "have the sense to come in out of it" group. I frequently read advice to stay in the parks as they really clear out when it rains. Being in the latter group that races for the exit, I have to take their word for it.

But all those people who cleared out of the parks have to do something. And lots of them have to stick with the bus. I think bowling will sound good to them.

It's also something to do for all the people who buy multi-day tickets and are always asking what they should do on arrival day.

There are frequently questions about what DH and DS can do while mom takes DD to BBB.

Locals might go, too.

As they said on Happy Days (also starring Ron Howard)...

"Bowling?"

Girl pin boys!!

BOWLING!

I think it will do well. I've been wrong before, though!

And in keeping with the theme of this thread, dare I say, "Balzac."

We tend to visit when the parks close early and except for the fact that we now have a toddler, we would have gone bowling! Believe it or not, there really aren't a lot of bowling alleys near us (only two that I know of) and they're small and not nearly as fun as this place looks! I also agree with a pp that they will get some locals and probably some college program kids!

Great Honk!!
:rotfl:

I suppose the rainy day reason is a good enough one. And I often forget about locals (sorry Orlando-ians!). We shall see ... in the meantime:

They should have the Dapper Dans in to sing "Lida Rose"!

Lida Rose I'm home again Rose
without a sweetheart to my name ... :rolleyes1

what...? why are they putting in a bowling alley? honestly, i think that is so useless... i mean okay yeah this is coming from someone who does not like bowling, but still it's walt disney world- the most magical place on earth,,, somehow that doesnt go with bowling.
just my take on it. anyway, i'm sure at least someone will enjoy it once it's put in. I will be going to downtown disney for shopping and lunch, as usual.
