then try these.

My vet gave me pill pockets when he prescribed an antibiotic for our older cat this week. She has a urinary tract infection. Meriweather is 15 years old and HATES to take medicine. I highly recommend these. They are wonderful.

Thanks for the link! I have a lot of trouble giving 2 of my 3 cats pills. According to the link there is a vet less than 2 miles from me that sells these. I'll definately keep this in mind next time one of my guys needs pills. :cat:

I have always used a pill popper that I buy from the vet. I had 2 cats to pill and this was wonderful.

What's a pill popper?

Don't they just bite halfway down into it, realize it tastes like awful medicine & spit it out?

No, mine just ate it like candy.

I've used a pill popper too that I got from my vet, it works really well with my cat. It's kind of hard to explain, but it is slim like a pen and has a plunger at one end and a rubber tip at the other end where you insert the pill. Then you put the pill end in your cats mouth, push the plunger and they swallow it right down.

So sorry to hear about your cat's pill problem! My tabby was on crack for years before finally getting clean. Aah, what can you do. They say they have to hit rock bottom before they'll see the light. Best of luck to you! ;)

My cat had an abcess so I needed to give her pills...she pitched a bloody fit - oh no wait, that was me that was all bloody ;) - I just could NOT do it!! It was battle WWIII between the 2 of us and I never was able to get them down her. :guilty: So I did a search on here and found this thread...I didn't even remember posting on it but I ran out and bought Pill Pockets at Petsmart.

OH. MY. GOSH.

These are THE BEST invention EVER!!!! She gobbled them up and never even knew the pill was in there!! I honestly can't believe they aren't more highly touted because I will NEVER have to shove a pill down my cat's throat again!!!

So thanks, MimiQ, for initially posting this - you saved both our sanities!! :sunny:

You are welcome. My dear Meriweather crossed the Rainbow Bridge recently- she did hate to take medicine of any kind.

I usually just shove the dang pill down the dang cat's throat. :thumbsup2 Works every time.

A friend inadvertantly punctured her small dogs esophagus with one of these. :guilty: Don't want to be Debbie Downer, but thought I should post it so people would know this can be a problem. Her dog didn't make it.

I use pasturized processed cheese food (American cheese slices) to envelope pills for my cat, and he gobbles them down! Have to cut the pill into palatable size if it's too big.
