Has anyone had trouble booking a room reservation for the first week of value season (the week after Thanksgiving)?

Over the last two weeks I have noticed two threads from people who are planning on going during this week that were told they could not book what they wanted because there were no rooms left. One thread said there were no rooms at all left for that week at POFQ, and one thread said there were no std rooms available at WL.

Are the resorts really filling up that fast already? Will it be hard to find a room if we do not book soon?

TIA!

I think a lot of people are just in the initial stages of planning vacations for that time, and they are simply holding resort rooms. I don't believe every one of them will end up going. In fact, I believe quite the contrary will happen. More people, as summer ends and school starts again and they begin to think about their plans in earnest, will end up cancelling resort ressies because something else will have come up and/or finances prevent them from going. For now, I think they are holding room ressies because it's also a good feeling to think that a holiday vacation at WDW is in the works.

Plus, many people are like you -- they are reading about how rooms are filling up fast, so they are just calling and holding a room -- any room -- just to get their foot in the door. I'll bet more will end up cancelling than not.

I sure hope you're right, I almost called and made a reservation, but our dates are not concrete yet, and I will not make a reservation if there is no way I'll keep it... i.e. no AP discounts

We are going from 11/25- 12/5, already have our plane tickets, and package will be paid in full next week. I chose this week for the decorations as well as the normally low attendence. Plus we tried making it to Disney two years and that fell through. So this year we are determined......whatever it takes to get there as the girls and my first trip and dh's first trip in about 2 decades.

Just curious - Did you book 11/25-12/5 on one ressie or separate ressie? Since value season doesn't start until 11/27, aren't you paying for regular season price for all the nights then?

two seperate ressies because of the value season :Pinkbounc Thanks to tips on Mousesavers. :cheer2:

I was going to hold off for awhile, but, after hearing from CRO that WL was booked when we wanted to go (no std. rooms at AAA discount), I went ahead & booked - got $169 per nt. at AKL, 11/29-12/6 (kids wanted that more than WL anyway). First family trip to WDW ever (been many times when single) !!
