My husband is a quadriplegic and drives a power wheelchair (NOT an ECV). He had no problem riding TSMM in 2011 and then on our 2012 visit he rode it in the morning. When we went back that evening the cast member said that my husband could not ride for safety reasons because his wheelchair was about an inch too long. Apparently they tightened up the regulations and the person who let us on that morning had let it slide. My husband's chair was very secure on the ride and he experienced no problems. He was pretty upset that in the evening he was told no. He loves that ride. So I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem with their wheelchair? It is also really tight for him getting onto the Nemo ride at Epcot. We thought that maybe for the TSMM ride we could remove his footrests for the ride, but that is a pain and not really good for his leg circulation. Any ideas?
