Being completely new to Disneyland, I'm kinda at a lost. I did search and really didn't find anything. I have a reservation currently at the Tropicana for 5 nights for $129 a night, I recently from reading some other threads read about the Carousel Inn and looked at their rates and I can book it for $119 a night. Its for the first week of Aug., two adults and a 6 year old in our party.

So for anyone that has stayed at both or either should I keep my Tropicanna rate or go with Carousel, the $50 isn't the issue, its just better/nicer hotel for the money. We will not have a car so the parking fee is not an issue for us. The breakfast sounds slightly better at carousel, but thats not a make or break for us either, its really room size, cleanliness and all the important things that matter in a hotel stay.

Thanks in advance for any help.

You cant go wrong with either. I have stayed at both, and will only stay at either of those when we stay off site. Nothing against Hojo or any other as they are good too, but my family prefers both the Carousel and the Tropicana. Both are very comparable in the way of distance to the park, the beds and pillows being basically the same comfort, and the rooms are about the same size. HOWEVER I like the Carousel a tad more then the Tropicana just because they do have a private roof top pool, and the standard rooms have a sliding door that shuts off from the room to the sink and bathroom area. If you are lucky to score the concierge suites at the Carousel you get a free hot breakfast, where regular room guests have their standard free continental or have to pay to buy the hot. Also the concierge rooms are quiet being far away from the main road. Now if you stay at the Tropicana you have an awesome late night convenient store, a bigger pool area then the Carousel, and it has a better free continental breakfast IMO that you can bring back to your room and eat where the Carousel will make you sit in the breakfast room as that food cant leave that room. But if you choose to stay with the Tropicana my suggestion to you is to call them and request the 3rd floor. There is no one around you, and it is also the floor of the free continental breakfast room. On my upcoming trip I am staying at the Tropicana just cause the Carousel was fully booked. But I am not disappointed. I know it will be a good stay.

:thumbsup2 Hope this helps.
