I'm looking at dates for July 2018. I've found $135 for both Tropicana and Camelot. I think we've actually stayed at both, but I can't really remember. Any preferences?
Thanks!

We've done both, they're "sister" hotels and yes basically the same. I think Tropicana looked a little newer to us, but really they were basically the same, although Tropicana is a few steps closer to Disney, but they're right next to each other.

The Trop is definitely newer looking inside and out. And it's closer. If I remember correctly, both places have small rooms, so putting 5 in a room could be a hassle. If you have 4 or less, these hotels should be fine.

I’m looking at Camelot for next year because of the proximity to the parks and the family suite. I looked at the Tropicana too but they don’t have the suite. So if size matters I would check out the suites at Camelot

Tropicana is in the process of renovating all their rooms right now, which I'm sure will be done by next year. I have no evidence to back it up, but my suspicion is that Camelot will be renovated after Tropicana is done, possibly bumping into your dates next year. I'd go for Tropicana.

We just stayed at the Tropicana in August and it was just fine. We were in an older room but it was clean and quiet and the renovations didn’t affect us at all. Definitely recommend!

Thanks all! We're not too worried about room size...Just me and the 3 kiddos. Close proximity is more important!
I'm sure it'll be hot in July...are the pools basically the same?

Yes, that's why we've stayed at the camelot...the suites. They're fine and if we had that configuration again we'd def. do it again.

Do Camelot!! We've stayed at both now and very much prefer the Camelot. The people are friendly at both, but the rooms are bigger at Camelot. We only had 3 people in the room, but still noticed the difference. Plus, next to McDonald's for morning breakfast/coffee runs.

That’s good to know! I’m always nervous staying somewhere new! My bf and I are taking a really unexpected and quick trip that way this weekend and we were hoping we could find a room there to check it out but it was full.
