hey guys, Im 6 days out and just saw that another tropical storm has developed!!!!! I hope this doesnt ruin anything for me when I leave. :(

From what I just saw at Accuweather.com, it looks like it's going to take awhile to get near the US. It's 930 miles from the Antilles moving at 19 mph.

We were there for Ernesto; and were quite concerned... but the only difference that it made to us was that there were less than half the normal visitors to the parks so the queues were much smaller (we went on Rock and Roller Coaster 4 times in a row - 5 min queues or less), and that we got to wear our very trendy ponchos a couple of times!!

Hope that you are as lucky
Helen :goodvibes

Yes - I'm crossing my fingers as well. We arrive on Sunday and the National Hurricane Forecasting Service still has it quite a bit out into the Atlantic by then.

I'm hoping we get a few days in - and hopefully it will vear off completely...

:wave2:

I hope it goes really slow lol until sept 17th so then ill be gone and have no worries!!!! LOL!!!

I was just checking some weather sites, and they seem to think it will turn and hit the Bahamas in stead of bothering the US coast. But just in case it comes in on Friday the 15th, I call it for my MNSSHP costume.

If it hits the Bahamas there is a high chance it will hit anywhere on the east coast of the U.S.

Did you mean Bermuda?

Hey...that's my week ;)

And we vacationed during Hurricane Jeanne two years ago...it's not fair that we should have another one hit too...

As long as we can get down there, I can handle the rest....

A day stuck in our rooms at Disney is better than a day stuck at home... :goodvibes

Rain, rain, go away... :rolleyes1

haha that is so true, but even if it is raining I think I will still be roaming around the parks with a poncho on just because I wanna see the World and not just my hotel room!!! hehe.

Us too. We leave on the 15th. I'll watch closely and move our departure date up if I need to. Though I'm hoping I won't have to. We're only staying until the 20th so I don't want to leave late, earlier would be better.

yes this is what i have been worried about. hope when we are there everything is ok. Pray,Pray, rain go away..

Sept 18-24 :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Me too...however during Hurricane Jeanne we were forced to stay in our hotel room at the Poly for most of the day. We were on "lockdown" from 10 p.m. until 3 p.m. the next day. Disney kept giving us updates as to what we could and couldn't do.

At 3 p.m. they started to escort everyone to the GCH if you wanted where they had games, characters and food. We basically had our very own character meet and greet with Mickey, Minnie, and Lilo. It was really handled well and they had free Disney movies on in the rooms so the kids really didn't get too bored.

It turned out to be really fun! :thumbsup2

The latest reports seem to indicate that Florence may head further north. So it looks at this point we may be okay (we leave in 3 days). Let's hope & pray. But I agree: I'd rather have a storm in Disney than any day at home.

I have ponchos ready for our trip. Our shoes consist of crocs and Land's end tennis shoes that are waterproof. I have heard the crowds are low.

That sounds really cool that Disney did that for everyone. But I was looking and they are predicting that it will go north and not go towards FL so lets all hope and pray for that!!!!

Yep! New prediction shows it heading far away from us! I leave in 3 days and don't want a hurricane! Plus we are staying on the beach on the drive home and that wouldn't be fun at all!

Looks like Florence is going to leave Florida alone.
