Tropical Storm Warning...

So I'm sitting here at work and my boss calls from court ( he is in trial) and says to cancel such and such for tomorrow and reschedule for Thursday as well as move his Thursday calendar. That the court is closed tomorrow and he will have to continue on Thurs. ..Ok so no biggie.

I called the court reporters office and said above and I was like I had no idea tomorrow was a holiday of any sorts, and she is like" is it a holiday" I said, I dont know but I don't think so... she says" maybe its the tropical storm thats out there".....me, "what tropical storm"...she's like " I think there's one out there so I'm not sure".

Lo and behold I get online and check out local news while shes canceling things for me and we are under a warning..I HAD NO IDEA one was even out there ...I'll admit I have stayed away from watching the news and I dont read it online either so maybe I should start.

Needless to say my beautiful sunny view out or balcony sliding door has just been darkend by the hurricane shutters the building is putting out. So I guess it's really coming, who'da thunk it!!!

So if there's any other clueless dissers out there in South Florida...THERES A TROPICAL STORM WARNING AND ITS COMING TOMORROW MORNING!!!

Should be a great day to fly a kite, get in a round of golf in the afternoon... it is a very weak system, moving very fast, and will not have time to form into anything but a very mild TS that will cause a little wind and a little rain and be gone before you blink.

But I'd still take a free day off for it.

I'm in NJ. This afternoon we have a tornado warning until 6 p.m. (We were hit with tornadoes about 2 weeks ago). Thursday we're supposed to get hit with Tropical Storm/Hurricane Nicole. I hear Los Angeles hit 113 degrees yesterday. Don't know what's going on weather-wise lately but it's definitely getting scary.

I know these can change into stronger storms but this storm only has 35 MPH winds--we get those winds almost weekly here .

Oh don't get me wrong I'm not freaking out about it. I usually don't Ive been thru plenty of hurricanes and storms including Andrew in 92 but I was just like WOW how could I have NO IDEA...

Sadly I'm not sure I'll have hte day off, my DBF works so we'll see. Either way, it should be interesting and I'm glad I got some gas today (i was EMPTY) since people here freak out about anything.

Jeez Tornados I can't deal with. Ive always said I LOVE hurricanes, you can see them coming and can RUN or plan ahead...LOL tornados, earthquakes, just not for me..lol

A few small limbs have blown out of my trees and it's raining so hard that outside appears all white. Wind is howling and cars are using their emergency flashers and a few have even pulled off the road. Had no idea this was expected. Oh...it's Central Florida where this is happening.
