Hello
I thought Tropical night and Pirate night were two separate days...and I just found out that they are the same event. I am trying to decide what the family should wear (Tropical or Pirate).

On your cruise were there more people wearing pirate or tropical attire? I've been viewing images from people cruises and it looks like it's more pirate attire. The Pirate costumes looks to be more fun. :)

This is my first time cruising with Disney. I was thinking maybe we can wear tropical during the day and change to pirate costumes at night...but my dh say's, "I am packing wayyyy to much stuff and I should pick one" :)
But of course he really doesn't care if I choose to wear both or one outfit. pirate: :flower:

Thanks for any replies

But he will care when he has to lug around all those heavy suitcases ;) Use the Dis method of packing.. Pack everything you think you will need & then unpack half of that.. Almost everyone admits to overpacking on their first cruise :goodvibes

On the June 4th Mexican Riviera cruise, there were not very many people dressed in Pirate garb. We had done the whole pirate thing for the 10 Night cruise, and I was trying to decide for this last one, just like you are. We opted for tropical (to lessen the packing) and wore the pirate bandannas that we were given at dinner. What I might have done is to dress tropical, and then just had a pirate hat or eye patch......
As it turned out, I was glad we didn't dress up as pirates, since not very many other people did. Most had their kids dress up, but not the adults.

You can get some really neat pirate hats, easy to pack, at www.orientaltrading.com

There were quite a few pirates on our cruise. Adults and children. My DH and DS just wore Pirates of the Carribean T-shirts and hats, and I had a striped shirt (like a first mates shirt). We wore our tropical stuff to Parrots Cay.

On our cruise there were not many pirates but my girls and I sure had a great time being some! Dh wore a tropical shirt, but us ladies wore white shirts, denim capri's, pirates belts that we made, sandels, and the girls had spy glasses. I say go for the pirate gear and get involved in the theme. Oh, and there was a best pirate "ARGHHHHH" contest for the guys. The guys that had the pirates gear on sure seemed to win!

We did a combo and we looked great. Like your hubby said..we already had way to much stuff to bring along.

Hubby and I both had tropical print shirts. He wore shorts I wore capris. We had bought the eye patch and gold hoop earrings at MK before the cruise. At dinner you are given a bandana to wear, and I had also bought blinking pirate pins to wear.

We looked great and the pics came out great. Some people did wear costumes, but the majority just had on regular tropical clothes with their free bandana.
