Someone posted that you can wear shorts in the dining room on Tropical night. Does this ring true to anyone.

Thanks::MickeyMo

You can wear shorts on Tropical night.... actually, most people did on our cruise. They just don't want you wearing jean shorts... :Pinkbounc

Although you will find people wearing shorts, the Navigators do say "No shorts or jeans, please". On our cruise most of the men were wearing khaki pants.

I saw lots of shorts on our cruise.

The PassPorters Guide says: Unless the evening is formal, semiformal or "tropical" dress is resort casual. We called DCL and asked them specifically if shorts were allowed on tropical night and the answer was most definetly. They just prefer that if you do wear shorts they are of the dress variety and not blue jean material. We are planning on wearing khaki shorts and the loudest shirts we can find. :crazy:

Another one of those conflicting answer questions that comes along...

Our servers told us that shorts would be acceptable on tropical night...

but had read the earlier posts about the casualness. I told my family they could choose. They all wore casual, but MOST people were wearing shorts and looked great!

We felt overdressed!

We found great shirts from the hawkers on Great Bay beach in Philipsburg that day. They were so fun and vibrant. Good deals too.

The Navigators do indeed state "No shorts or jeans, please." for Tropical/Mexical night.

Tropical (shorts) are encouraged for the deck party but not for the restaurants.

Well, with all that unanimity, what can they do, throw you overboard?

We saw tons of people wearing shorts on tropical night! And for us it was weird because our tropical night fell on our Lumiere's rotation. So it felt really strange to go into Lumiere's dressed for dinner soooo casually. But then again, our formal night was in Parrot Cay -- so go figure.

mmouse37, what a beautiful family you have.
thx for sharing.
