Trips, Dips 'n' Dole Whips - August 2010 - Hopefully LIVE! Pre-Trip Report

Love your plan's it sounds like you'll be having a great time. Hope that you wife has now made a great recovery from her op it's nice that she has had Disney to look forward to and plan whilst getting better. :goodvibes

Hi it's the wife here - thanks for the good wishes, yes I'm fully recovered and raring to go and you are so right; having the trip to look forward to helped loads! Can't wait now!

We're certainly going to try and do the trippie live. We bought a netbook especially for it, and the condo has internet access so no reason why not. I guess it just depends how tired we are at the end of each day! I always like to unwind with a beer or two, no matter time we get in from the parks, so I'm sure I'll be able to get something done then! Should hopefully be plenty of pics, too.

This has made me very excited :woohoo:

I love live trippies I am doing one this year upgraded contents insurance especially so laptop is now covered abroad lol

The only downer is that my beloved Canaries are the opening match of the new season, live on Sky :happytv: on the Friday evening in the middle of our holiday, so I suppose I shall have to give that a miss. No doubt DW will completely disagree about the importance of these things :rotfl2: but I don't get to see them too often, living 250 miles away from Carrow Road!

Ah so exciting this month I am so excited for you! we go 11 weeks today and I am too excited

I was born in Norwich, so am a fellow canaries supporter (but I am guessing no way near as much as you).
The Olive Garden is lovely. Have you tried The Cracker Barrell? It is my most favorite place for breakfast, a must do if you can squeeze it in your schedule!
Have a fab holiday, we go 27th August. I cannot wait, its been 3 years since our last visit and we are taking bith our children 3 & 2 this time.

"On the ball city!" x

On The Ball City indeed! Looking forward to the new season!

We tried Cracker Barrell for breakfast on our last trip - I'll not say what we thought; just have a read here :rolleyes1

Mind you, there's one very close to Cane Island, so we might end up there again!

I've not been to the Cracker Barrell for 3 years so it may have changed, will give it a whirl.
Love the Earl of Sandwich, I had a meatball one, very nice!!
The ice cream at ghiradelli is the best but the que is a drag.
Have a great holiday x :yay:

We get back on the friday morning, which we had planned so we did nt miss watford game. So now we will have to go carrow road that evening, I hope we are not delayed. On our last trip we had a 9 1/2 hour delay!!! It had better be exciting so I keep awake x:

Blimey, from what I remember of previous trips I'd be more than ready for bed by the time kick-off comes around!

Still, at least the Big Red Envelope came today. WooHoo!!:goodvibes:banana:
Nearly there now!

Forgot to say to you today are you still planing on doing a live trippie I need to remember to ask you about this when I see you next time

Yep, we still intend doing them live :thumbsup2

I've been up to Bristol this morning on an emergency call-out for work, so I just had to swing by the new place open at the Avon Meads retail park. Look what I brought home with me!!! And they even gave me a free one straight out of the oven - it was soooooo nice!!!

YUMMY where about's in Bristol Dave works next to the airport :)

I really want to take our laptop but not to sure about it so want to know how you get on with taking yours can you use the computer on the plane obv not internet but atch films etc

Bit of a trek from the airport, but easy to find. It's just down the road from the "famous" Arnos Vale Cemetery and the old HTV Studios (if you know where they are!) - in the car park of the Avon Meads Retail Park (search for postcode BS2 0SP on Google Earth).

Oh yeah I know where that is there is the showcase cinema in that area and a sainsburys down the road umm don't visit very often though probably been to Florida more then there LOL

The time has come for our final pre-trippie post. Thumbs are currently being twiddled as we wait for OLCI time (and hour and a half to go!). The car is fully loaded and ready to go:

As soon as we've checked in and printed our boarding passes, we'll be on the road to Gatwick, where we'll be checking in to the Premier Inn before (hopefully) dropping our bags off at Twilight Check-in and going off for something to eat. Then, in the morning, we can have a nice, leisurely start before dropping the car off to the Purple Parking people and heading off to the V-Room.

If everything goes according to plan, from now on we'll be doing live trippies, so keep an eye out for them, and thanks for reading our pre-trippie.

See you in Florida!!
