Triple Tow ? and golf carts.

I hold a Class A CDL in Texas and have double/triples endorsement. I was a bit fuzzy on the definitions so I went back to the TX CDL manual. A double is a combination of 2 trailers pulled by a tractor and a triple is in fact a combination of 3 trailers pulled by a single power unit. I haven't looked at the other states CDL manuals, but the CDL is a national license per se, so I think the definitions are the same across the board. So a pickup pulling a fifth wheel pulling a utility trailer by this definition is a double. There are in fact very few states that even allow pulling commercial triples, I know TX does not, but you don't see TX in the RV/Boating lists that don't allow triple towing. Most states do allow commercial doubles. :confused3

I looked and looked when we bought the 5er and found nothing. Now that we have the new camper, hope it helps someone else.

Here's some info I found
http://www.dot.state.fl.us/mcco/information/recreational_vehicles.htm

Here is the copy and paste version of what I found

Recreational Vehicles
Florida statutes require that non commercial vehicle combinations consist of no more than two units and such combinations may not exceed a total length of 65 feet.
F.S. 316.515(3)

Drivers of recreational vehicles are exempt from the requirement to obtain a commercial drivers license.
F.S. 322.53(2) (d)

Florida statutes are available at:

From what I was told, a Swivel wheel does not qualify as a trailer if you have lights on the back of it and because of the connection, it becomes part of that unit.:worship: :worship: I AM THE KING OF ROAD LAWS :worship: :worship:
