Yacht Club Resort
Spent first week in Boca Raton, FL for DH's business trip

This is the 2nd year in a row my DH has had a business trip to FL around our son's birthday. Last year, we spent DS's first birthday at Disney World. Our DS turned 2 during the week of DH's business trip. But, we celebrated his birthday at Disney as well.

Arrive at the YC @ 4:15 after a 3 hour drive from Boca Raton. There is no wait at all and we check-in quickly. This is our second stay at the YC. We fell in love with it last year and it is now our favorite resort. Captain Bob comes over to meet our DS. He asks how old he is and we tell him that he just turned two that week. Well, he tells us to come see him on Monday, b/c he is leaving for the day and he will have something special for our DS next week.

We get a room on the 3rd floor facing the tennis courts. I love the refurbished room! The furniture is beautiful and the wall paper and comforters look great! Although we had to make three turns to get to our room, by the 2nd day, our two year old knew the way! I quickly unpacked our things and we decide that since DS napped on the way up to Disney, we'd grab a bite to eat out. Since I am notorious for over-planning trips, and my DH likes to relax, I let him pick where we went for the night. He chose ESPN at the Boardwalk. We had never eaten there before, so it was new for us. We walked over and got right in. It was about 6 pm and there were a lot of open tables. We chatted with a couple who were having their first weekend away from their 3 month old. Dinner was great. DH had a burger, I had a turkey wrap and DS had mac-n-cheese with goldfish. Everything was very fresh and hot! We shopped a bit after that and then decided to head over to Epcot. We love AP's. They not only get you a great rate on a room, but it gives you such freedom to just hit a park for an hour or two.

As we enter the International Gateway, we realize that TOD will be starting soon. We get a spot and enjoy the parade. It is my favorite parade at DW. My DS loves the music. He's been listening to the CD since before he was born. We use it as the "magic" CD in the car. When he gets fussy, we put the CD on and it always calms him down. Now, he asks for the "Wayla, Wayla song!!!" We walk around WS and hit Ice Station Cool, Spaceship Earth and Mousegears. Then, we walk back to WS to get a spot on the bridge between UK and France to watch Illuminations. Awesome as usual. We stroll back to the YC and go through the resort gift shop for the first of many visits. DS began to automatically go in there whenever we passed by it! He loves to "hug" all of the stuffed characters. He never cries for us to buy one, he willingly puts them back, but he will scream if he can't give his friends a hug!

We settle our two year old into the pack-n-play. We had enjoyed a suite the previous week and although the YC rooms are large, we got spoiled by having the extra space when DS went to bed. We put the tv on low and thankfully, within 10 minutes, DS fell asleep.

A relaxing way to start your adventure - I too love to listen to the ToD parade music - thanks for posting!

Thanks for posting!

YC is my fav resort, too. I didn't think anything could top WL, but YC did:p

Hi! can't believe Ds is already 2! time flies! What a great start!

Our three children (4,3,3) also call the TOD tape "the Wayla Wayla song"!!! It has gotten us through many-a-long car ride. It is amazing how children can enjoy music beyond Barney and Raffi :-)

I am enjoying your trip reports!
