I freaking love technology when it works. Just discovered this website & its awesome for creating a trip itinerary.

You open a free account.
And forward any reservation emails you might have for hotels, car rentals, airlines, travel websites.....
It knows how to read the formats of just about all travel emails & puts the info into the itinerary.
You can add, delete, or edit if you want to.
You can add in meetings, dinners.... comments, snipits from websites...
It adds maps & directions between places. You can delete if you don't want.
It adds the weather for the locations.
You can print it -- with all info or just some of the info.
You can share it if you want to via Google apps or Facebook. (I wouldn't do that personally, but whatever.)

AND there's an free app for it.
Say while viewing your airline reservation, you click the airport link, it goes to a image of the airport & terminal layout.
Or other links go to maps.

And it does tons more. I freaking love it because we have a long trip with 5 hotel changes coming up & have tons of info to organize!!!

I can print a copy for emergency to leave at home too.

There is an upgrade acct for $$$$, don't know what that does yet.

I just discovered you don't need wifi to view the trip info in the app. Perfect for my Ipod Touch!!

I agree that it's a very useful app. I was particularly impressed when I just forwarded an email from the owner confirming our condo rental through VRBO to TripIt and it was able to recognize that and put it in under our housing for an upcoming trip! Even things it can't recognize (car service in Ft. Lauderdale), it'll file under an unmarked heading and you can change it to whatever heading it best fits under. I had everything in there for our last Disney trip, and in the next 10 days we have 4 different trips among our family (none for me unfortunately) - Florida, Maryland, Illinois and Colorado and I have them all in there to keep everyone (all download the app on their iphones then I just put all the info in) on the same sheet! Can't beat it for free!

So far I've added for 1 trip:
flights
5 hotels in various cities
rental car
many meetings
maps & directions for various cities & points of interest we plan to see
notes like remembering to pick up someone from airport who flies in after us
notes on certain things we need to take to certain meetings
weather for each city
and it even recognizes lat/long coordinates, not just addresses.
I need to add ferry info still & any tours we might do.

DH is away & I just had him install it & he likes it too.

I have a friend who travels tons with multiple reservations per trip. He's away currently too. He will love this also.

How did I not know of this before.
