Trip with kids

hello, I was wondering if anyone has used nanny in the kingdom when traveling to Disneyland. I am wondering if that is something people would recommend when traveling with two kids, one who can go on big rides and one who can't. Thanks!

it really does depend on you and your families needs and wants for a vacation.. if this is how you usually do your trips, then Disneyland should be no different.. but if this is a new thing for you, then I would be asking myself why take a family trip to Disneyland and have someone else be with my children.. and I get wanting to have a date night etc.. but again why have a family trip.

There is a program called rider swap, that allows one adult to go on a ride with another child or by themselves, while the second adult stays with the child that cant/wont ride. then when first adult has come off the ride , the second adult then goes through the fastpass line using the swap card. if the first child wants to go on the ride again, they can with the second adult..

I agree. If you have a Nanny normally then I don't see it being a big deal but if you don't, that kind of doesn't make me feel like it's a family trip. You have someone you don't know and you can't truly be yourselves because you have a stranger with you and your kids.

It sounds like you will be the only parent at the park with two young children (one who is old enough to go on the "big rides" and the other who isn't)? I've never used the nanny version, but I have heard about families who bring along an older teen or young-twenties neighbor/friend/family member babysitter. If you have any older teens where you know the family well enough to ask, sometimes it's cheaper to bring the teen to stay with you at the hotel and enjoy the trip with you.

Edited to change "bring along" instead of "being along." Darn the tiny phone keyboard!

We usually do use rider swap but it will be just me with the two boys this trip. So no second adult to wait with the 3 year old

I have tried the few people I thought would be interested but haven't found anyone yet. I don't know who wouldn't be into a Disney trip but apparently it's the people I know! Lol

Weird isn't it! We are finding out that a lot of people we know are not into Disneyland trips..the total opposite of us!

I want to be a "nanny in the kingdom"! I just checked out her website and it sounds like an awesome job! If only I lived closer to Disneyland...

Seriously though, it seems like she would be very helpful, especially in your situation and her rates aren't too bad, really. Good luck, I hope you can find some good reviews.
