Hello-

I'm new to the board so my apologies if this is a topic that gets beat to death around here. I looked around but saw no threads.

I've been to DW many times but this will be the first trip with my wife and our 10mo son. I'm interested in ANY suggestions regarding visiting with a child this age. Specifically...

- Are there any childcare services that will deal with a 10mo?

- We're bringing a stroller. Are there any areas it's not allowed?

- How are the designated baby care areas? Crowded?

Thanks in advance for the info!

We've done 2 trips to WDW with our granddaughter and her family...she was 9 months the first time and 1 1/2 years old the second trip.....

We used Disney transportation with no problems...certain restaurants have stroller problems so you have to pick carefully...

Resort pick was important for us...we knew we would be returning back at any given moment (we're not ones to keep a child all day in a park).....we let the child rule the vacation.....if she was fussy, tired or just plain had enough...we returned back to the resort for either room time or pool time (it was better letting her rest at the resort at her normal down times) and it was early to bed for everyone....we never let the shorten park hours bother us and just went with her flow....

Changing stations were everywhere, just make a note where they are at by the park maps....we had her formula and what not in a small soft sided cooler with ice packs...

The second trip went about the same as her first...she ruled the vacation....we were going just for her (we've been there enough and seen it all) so whatever she want to see or do...we did...great vacations seeing WDW thru her eyes....

I said above on resort choice...we knew we were going to spend most days in the MK and wanted a resort close....we've done monorail resorts in the past and though great, didn't want to be on that well beaten path and choose WL for it's closeness, compactness and ease of geting around...worked great for both trips......just remember, a childs attention span is very small, it's the colors and sounds that they enjoy and they do need quiet rests throughout the day.....have a great trip..

Hi:
Strollers are no problem...Disney clearly identifies where they want you to leave them and I highly recommend making/buying a tag to attach to your stroller or tie a piece of yarn to it so that you can identify your stroller quickly. This also helps with others not taking your stroller by mistake.

If you want to go on rides your little one can't, talk to the CM at the entrance to each ride. They will give you a parent pass and this will enable each of you to take a turn riding and then watching your little one.

I found the Baby Stations very convenient. They have nursing stations and you can even purchase baby food and other necessities.

I travel as light as possible. I usually throw a few diapers, a sippy cup, wipes, sunscreen, and maybe a blanket in the bottom of the stroller. I put the wipes and the diapers in a zip lock gallon bag.(Security can easily identify what it is). I do not bring my diaper bag. The security line can get really long if they have to look through tons of 'stuff' and you certainly don't want to carry it on all the rides or attractions.

I do carry my camera!

Childcare services for a ten month old is offered through Kids Nite Out. You can contact your Disney resort and they can give you the phone number. They babysit in your hotel room. I don't know if this is only for certain resorts or for all on property.

Have fun! But don't expect to see or do everything!
