I'm in the market for travel insurance for the first time ever. We are a group of 5: Me age 57, wife 55, 2 daughters 25 and 23; and one boyfriend 24. We, as a group live in 3 different states. When shopping policies, I see that many except for the most expensive require everyone to live in the same state. If not, it requires that we buy separate policies which makes it cost prohibitive. I'm paying the entire cost of the trip and the ONLY reason for the insurance is if one of us tests positive for covid at the terminal. We're all vaccinated. Any suggestions?

Did you check with DCL? Since it’s an add on to your cruise they might not have the multi-state restrictions.

No, I declined it and I don't think that I can get it for our cruise leaving in 51 days.
I think it has to be added before final payment, but it might be worth calling to confirm since policies have been a little different lately.

It may be difficult to get around the requirement of separate policies for different states of residence because insurance offerings are regulated at the state level, not the national level. Policy provisions can vary depending on state insurance regulations as set by the insurance commissions in the individual states.

That's what I'm reading.
