My DH and I are planning on going to Canada the beginning of August for a family Anniversary party. I was just wondering if anyone knows of any nice and CHEAP hotels in that area. We've just recently learned about this and there's not much time to plan/save for this.

TIA for all info!

Hi, you can try doing a search on this forum for Niagara Falls.

Try www.niagarafalls.com or niagarafallshotels.com, or go to www.google.com and type in Niagara Falls It's always expensive in the summer. The first weekend in August is our long weekend, so it will be dearer at that time.

You can also get a discount from AAA or CAA for the attractions there.
You get $10 off if you go with all five attractions at once instead of buying seperately. www.caasco.ca

Hope this helps!

I just recently returned from Niagara Falls about 2 weeks ago. We stayed at the Marriott Courtyard (Canadian Side) and it was a great hotel. Extremely clean, good location, great price (got package with buffet breakfast and $45 CDN voucher for dinner at TGIF or Keg Steakhouse - definately recommend Keg Steakhouse!) I think it ran us around $220 CDN for 3 people/2 nights. Highly recommend!

If you get an opportunity - drive 6 miles north to Niagara on the Lake - BEAUTIFUL AREA! My favorite part of the trip!

I have lived in the Niagara region for 8 yrs now and I can tell you this. If the address of the Hotel is on Fallsview Blvd... it's expensive. Especially in August. Grab something on Lundy's Lane (literally 5 min from the falls) or better yet, if you have a car, stay in St. Catharines (the main city in the Niagara region). You'll find it's only a 10-15 min drive to the falls and you'll be surrounded by reasonably priced restaurants and shopping.

If you must stay in the tourist district, Lundy's lane is the best bet. Lundy's lane starts at Stanley Ave and heads West from the falls. Start at Stanley and head west. The further you go, the lower the price (generally speaking).

Best of luck.
Hope this isn't  too late

We went to the Falls 2 years ago, and we stayed at Best Western, it was nice, and a short walk (10-15min) to the falls and all the attractions! No so expensive too, and with AAA/CAA you could have a nicer rate!!!

DH and I stayed last week at the Fallsview Casino and resort.. It was NOT cheap.. We have stayed at the Courtyard Marriot before and it was not bad at all. Very Clean and not that far away from everything. Fallsview is very nice, we got a package with Dinner and breakfast that ran about 350 for the night ( special day) But the room was listed at 850 a night.

Another option is staying in Niagara on the lake in a bed and breakfast, they are usually cheaper and BEAUTIFUL.. and its a 10 minute drive to Niagara Falls.

Your at the height of the tourist season, so it will be pricey - the closer to the falls, the more expensive the stay.

You may look at priceline as some have success there.

Be carefull with some of the independent hotels on Lundy's Lane - some are perfectly fine, others are scary.
