Me too, me too! We're on the next sailing of the Wonder, and I'd love to know if we can expect water that's warm enough for swimming in CC and Nassau!

HI THERE~

JUST GOT BACK "LAST NIGHT" FROM THE WONDER. BURR IN COLD, IN NJ I WANT TO GO BACK!!!

WEATHER WAS QUITE WARM. YESTERDAY WAS HOT. NEED A JACKET FOR AT NIGHT, ALSO WALT DISNEY THEATER GETS REAL COLD (AIR CON)

SEAS WERE GREAT. VERY MILD ROCKING THOUGH THE LAST EVE WE ROCKED GENTLY TO SLEEP, IT WAS VERY COMFORTING.

ON OUR DAY TO CC ISLAND, IT WAS DRIZZLING & RAINING LIGHTLY. WE STILL WENT AMONG MANY OTHER, & HAD A BLAST. WATER WAS SLIGHTLY CHILLY. THOUGH I MUST ADD, I AM BIAS & LIKE REAL WARM WATER. THE KIDS & ADULTS WERE ALL SWIMMING, NO ONE COMPLAINED ABOUT COLD WATER TO ME.

THE SHIP IS SO, BIG THAT CROWDS ARE NOT A PROBLEM. THERE SEEM TO BE ROOM FOR ALL. THE ONLY TIME, I SAW CROWDS, WAS THE LAST DAY, DISEMBARK & THERE WAS A LONG LINE, TO GET INTO THE 2ND SEATING TO PC FOR BREAKFAST. ALSO, CROWDS WHEN THE CHARACTERS CAME AROUND.

ANY OTHER QUESTIONS, FEEL FREE TO ASK AWAY.

PATRICIA

Thank you! I just needed to be assured that the water was warm enough that people went swimming. I'm do swim in Cape May NJ in the summer, and I'm guessing that you have an idea about what that's like, so the water doesn't have to be warm for me, just tolerable.

What did you do in Nassau?

Bobbi

:D

HI BOBBY,

YES, I DO KNOW CAPE MAY, ACTUALLY I RENT ON LBI ONCE A YEAR.

CC ISLAND, WATER IS MUCH WARMER THAN THE JERSEY SHORE.

I HAD PLANS TO GO TO "CABLE BEACH" IN NASSAU. PLANS CHANGED SINCE MY DMIL SHE HAD DIFFERENT PLANS OF SHOPPING. UNFORTUNATELY THAT'S WHAT I DID ON NASSAU DAY.
LOT'S OF PEOPLE WENT TO THE ATLANTIS.

I DID BOOK FOR NEXT YEAR WITH MY DSIL. YOU BET WE WILL BE ON "CABLE BEACH" WITH THE KIDS.

AS FAR AS THE CRUISE, WE HAD THE BEST TIME.

WE HAD THE "WORSE" HEAD SERVER THOUGH. HE WAS "NO WAY" NEAR EXCELLENT. HIS ASSISTANT WAS EXCELLENT. SHE MADE UP FOR HIS POOR SERVICE. OUR TABLE MATES WERE VERY UPSET WITH OUR WAITER TOO. MY POOR MIL HAD TO BEG FOR COFFEE, & HE REFUSED TO SERVE MY DD DESERT. WE ASKED TWICE,FOR DESERT & FINALLY GOT THE ASSISANT TO GET IF FOR HER. I KINDA FELT BAD, SINCE I SAW OTHER WAITERS, DOING TRICKS & MINGLING WITH THERE MATES.

ANY MORE QUESTIONS, ASK AWAY.

PATRICIA

What time did you depart Nassau?

We'd like to go to Cable Beach, then head over to "see" Atlantis.

Just looking to see if we have enough time for both.

thanks:D

We also just go back from the wonder.

The weather was warm and so was the water. At Atlantis, I probably spent an hour in the water - it was beautiful. I have never been to cable beach, so I cannot comment on that, but I have been to Atlantis several times.

We book a room at the Comfort Suites (175 + tax) and they provide you with up to 5 wrist bands which give you full access to Atlantis (slides, pool, beach, aquarium). Well worth the price. Don't book the shore excursion - you don't get to use the slides and pool - which would be torture if you have kids. We just grabbed a cab outside the terminal and for $4 a person our day was set.

We left Atlantis around 6:00 and were back on the ship by 6:30. They recommend that you be back on board by 7:00 and sail away is at 7:30.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

We just got home from our fabulous trip aboard the Wonder. This was our first ever cruise. My only complaint is that 3 days are just not enough! By the time we had learned our way around the ship, it was time to disembark in Port Canaveral. Our travelling party consisted of my DM, DSD, DH, DD (6), DS (11), DSis, DBIL, DNep (8), & DNiece (4).

We had rough seas only on the first night and walking straight was sometimes a challenge. Fortunately we had taken Dramamine so we did not have any difficulty with motion sickness. We had late seating and our dinner rotation was PTA. Our servers were Igor & Kecha. They were great! Kecha was the one who entertained the kids by picking on them and doing some napkin tricks. Our Category 9 stateroom was on Deck 2 aft and it was in a great location near the elevators. We, however, mostly took the stairs for exercise. It amazed me the folks who would wait on the elevator and go 1 or 2 floors and get off! Try as we might to stay up later and enjoy some of the nighttime adult activities, my DH & I were out like a light by 11pm.

The next day we put our DD in the kids' club & our DS went with us to walk around Nassau. My DM & DSD took a tour of the island & went to Atlantis which they thoroughly enjoyed. We wanted to see the 2pm "Prem-Ear" of The Incredibles so we didn't do much in Nassau except walk along Bay St. & visit the Straw Market. We were there long enough for me to find a beautiful pair of blue topaz earrings to my DH's chagrin! We also saw Bill Gates' large yacht, The Octopus. It was in port very near the Wonder. All I could think was that my purchase of WinXP helped pay for that monster, but I had Mickey Mouse aboard my home away from home & he did not! We returned to the ship, had lunch at Beach Blanket, retrieved our DD, and went to see The Incredibles. My DNep & DNiece were chosen out of the audience to go onstage with 4 other children to say what super powers they would like to have before the movie started. All the other children exited the stage and the host kept my 4 yo DNiece onstage to introduce the movie--it was one of those magical moments!

We had great weather the next day at CC and the water was a little cool at first but I got accustomed to it after a few minutes. My DH & DS went the farthest point out in the snorkeling lagoon but I stayed behind because our 6 yo DD got frustrated trying to figure out how to snorkel without swallowing tons of saltwater because she kept placing her head too far below the water. She & I spent time on the family beach while DD & DS were snorkeling. Glad we didn't pay for a snorkeling excursion! I purchased a gift basket from Shirley at The Perfect Gift and had her put snorkel masks in our basket along with several other items. I paid the same amount for her gift basket as what renting the snorkel equipment for the 4 of us would have cost. After lunch @ CC we rented paddleboats and the kids really enjoyed that. We returned to the ship around 3pm so that they could play on the slide at the Mickey pool before getting showered for the stage show & dinner.

Crowds were never a problem. The longest line I waited in was for pictures with Mickey & Minnie in the atrium on Friday night. We waited for 10-15 minutes. Each time I went to Guest Services, I either walked right up to the counter or had to wait for less than 1-2 minutes. Getting off the ship in Port Canaveral took less than 10 minutes and we found our luggage within a couple of minutes. DCL has disembarking down to a science. My DM has cruised on Carnival & Norwegian & she was very impressed by how quick & smooth disembarking went. She said that DCL far exceeded the personal service, stateroom size, and overall experience than the other 2 lines that she has cruised. I have requested quotes from a travel agent for 4 & 7 day trips in 2006.

Suggestions I used from this board: over-the-door shoe organizer was very helpful; got pillowcase & mat for picture frame signed by characters; took a folder to place extra Navigators in so that they didn't get crumpled during the flight home; made door signs which my children loved & it made the room easier to find; didn't rent floats on CC because plenty were available on the beach in the afternoon; took lanyards but didn't use because we all had pockets; preaddressed labels for postcards before we left home; had a sailaway basket delivered to the room from Shirley; and didn't fret over not being able to do everything. The information I learned on the board and from my Passporter book were invaluable! I hope your experience on DCL is as enjoyable & magical as ours was!

I'm new. Tell me about the lanyard tip. Any other tips would be great. Tell me about Shirley's too. Thanks

People keep their KTTW card in the lanyard for easy accessibility. We always were wearing shorts with pockets so that is where we kept our cards. My DH was responsible for keeping our DS's card when he wasn't using his and I kept our DD's card. However, many people were wearing lanyards and they were available for purchase at Guest Services for $8.

Shirley is the owner of The Perfect Gift (www.theperfectgift.cc) in Cape Canaveral. She is very accomodating to whatever you would like to have placed in a gift basket. I highly recommend her! You could use Disney for room baskets, but I think you have more flexibility with Shirley. The tote bag that came with our gift came in handy on the trip home because of all the souvenirs we purchased!
