Travel

We travelled down on the Sunday morning as were worried about getting stuck due to operaton stack, but it had cleared so had trouble free journey.Stayed over night at Travelodge Folkestone. Woke early for our 8.20 Eurotunnel crossing, but arrived early and managed to get on an earlier train.Straightfoward drive to Disney apart from getting lost around Charles De Gaulle AA route planner told us to get off a junction too early. Soon corrected ourselves using the map. Was absolutaly pouring with rain and at times could hardly see where we wee going. Decided as the car was such a tip we would park the car ourselves rather than use valet parking.Obviously found out when we got to the DLH we had to use valet parking and rather embarrassingly handed over our keys and luggage. walked into hotel reception and were very impressed with it, very warm and welcoming. Walked straight up to the desk and were given our park tickets and told bags would be take to room and to return after 3.

We had previously stayed at the Sequia Lodge and really liked it but had decided to treat ourselves as we were going in March and getting 4 nights for the price of 3 it wasn't that much more expensive. I have to say it was better than I expected in every way, the room was lovely nice and big, lovely bathroom and really clean and didn't look tired at all as I thought it might. The service was fab, the room was cleaned every morning and towels changed and the the beds turned down !! early evening. Everyone we encountered from thewaiters to the people in the shop, minnie club etc were friendly and very helpful. We ate twice in invetions for character meals and the waiters in here were particularly great, very good with out DD one even gave her a rose when she was dressed as sleeping beauty and performed magic tricks for her and gave her loads of freebies. We really felt part of the park the whole time, what could be better than having breakfast overlooking the castle and walking over the bridges at night to see the whole park and castle lit up.We had a room over looking one of the side gates and we could just see the top of big thunder mountain :)

Characters/Character Express

We found the characters were much more mobed in the parks than when we went 2 years ago and particularly when they got off after character express.Which by the way we loved and DD used to run to it every time we heard the music. We therefore got all our autographs at 2 inventions meals and 1 at Auberge De Cendrillion(sp)Got loads of photos and autographs, and good character intervention. Best was in inventions when we were walking out at same time as minnie and she took my daughters hand and they walked out together :cloud9:

Found characters in studios easy to get to with ust a small wait.Saw Chip and Dale, Marie and Rat from ratoutellie with no one round him at all

It was different characters each night at inventions and we thought the food was great very hot and replenished often. There were loads of seafish, steak, lamb, chicken different potoatoes, salad, cold meats, and loads of desserts and everthing we had was really tasty.

DD did the princess for a day which is being run at the DLH but I think only until end of March, you choose one of 3 price levels and you can be Belle,Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty. You go into a special room and sit as if in a salon while they do your hair, make up and take your photo.

<a href="http://s39.photobucket.com/albums/e194/foxshaw/?action=view&current=DisneylandParis2008257.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e194/foxshaw/DisneylandParis2008257.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Not sure if it was coincidence but this was one of the evenings we went into Inventions and she was treated extra special by the waiters and all the characters.

Also did cinderella meal.We thought food was really nice and for 3 of us was cheaper than Inventions as wine was included, but they definatley tried to get you in and out in an hour which was certainly not the case in Inventions. The fairy godmothers, Suzy and Perla come out on the hour, then at 15 mins past the hour the princesses came out, it was Snow white and Prince Phillip,Cinderella and Ariel when we were there, Suzy and Perla, Snow White and Aeriel came to our table, just as Cinderella was due a bell rang and they
all went, which was a shame, they were out for about half an hour.

Came across Jasmine and Genie outside Aladdin walkt hrough totally unexpected with hardly anyone there,

Rides

/EMH<a href="http://s39.photobucket.com/albums/e194/foxshaw/?action=view&current=DisneylandParis2008076.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e194/foxshaw/DisneylandParis2008076.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

We did EMH 3 days out of 4 and found them fantastic. We had breakfast at 7.30, quickly went to our room and got our coats and were through the gates just after 8 and vitually had the park to ourselves.Everything open was walk on and stay on if you wanted. My DD and DH(I don't do many rides)did Orbitron loads, Toy Story walk on, I did this once and we were the only ones on. It was closed one morning due to technical fault:confused3
DH did Space mountain twice and lovd it. We went on small World 3 or 4 times every day as walk on same for Dumbo and teacups but only during EMH.Also carousel was walk on a lot of the time. Some mornngs Pinochio was open and others Snow White.By about 9.30 it started to fill up.Also rode Casey Junior for the first time which we all really liked and the story book ride which was good but only rode once .DD and Dh rode big thunder several times always no more than 5 minute wait, either used fast pass or went on in rain lol. Did pirates 3 times I think again generally walk on. We mainly avoided rides in middle of day and found other times small queues.Persuaded DD to go on Tower of terror and she absoltaly hated it :scared: But didn't cry until she came off and saw me. Crush was closed due to techncal hitch when we were there but DD didn't want to go on it, so didn't bother to go back. DD and DH did cars and liked it, DH said it was better than it looked.

OK if you have read this far thanks for reading, I wil do some more later.

Lovely photos and your DD looks like a true princess!
It looks like you had a wonderful time- you met lots of interesting characters- my 5 year old DS would have been thrilled to have met Remy the Rat! My DH thought the same about the Cars ride -suprising how fast it went! If we ever make it back I think we'll definetly give the inventions a try it sounds great.
