Hello everyone,
My DH and I just returned from our first trip to Disneyland. Even thought the weather could have been alot warmer we had a great time. We were supposed to fly out at 6:00am on Saturday morning but NY had a huge snow storm and our flight was cancelled. We booked through Delta and was on hold for hours and hours to rebook. Finally I told my husband we have to go to the Airport and try to rebook. Good thing, there was one agent on duty and we were able to rebook for the same day but at 5:00pm. So we only missed one day of our vacation, not bad.
We flew into Las Vegas and spent the night and drove to Disneyland. We really enjoyed driving through the mountains and stopped at the Calico Ghost town in Cal that was really fun. It is an old time Western town.
We stayed at the GC and it reminded me alot like Wilderness lodge in Disneyworld. Our room was really nice, we overlooked downtown Disney and being on the 3rd floor we were right in the middle of the action.
We arrived on my husbands birthday and through Disney Planning I planned a very special birthday dinner. It is called 6th floor dining. On the 6th floor of the GC you can sit outside on a private Balcony and have your dinner served to you by your own waiter. It is really nice cause I picked all my husbands favorite foods. Then as they served his birthday cake the fireworks from Disneyland started. We had perfect seats and watched them together while eating his cake! It was very romantic and he loved it.
I booked the Welcome to Disney tour and we were the only ones on the tour. If you havent booked this tour you really should. Our tour guide took us to both parks and we even had front of the line access to a few rides. Then as an extra bonus we were lucky enough to get priority seating for the parade. We sat right on the benches on the Walt Disney railroad and had perfect view. My husband and I and 3 other people were the only ones that had these seats, it was great.
We stopped by City hall and picked up a Birthday button for my husband and every single cast member we saw wished him a happy birthday, It really made him feel special all day.
We ate at Ariels Grotto, The Blue Bayou, Story Tellers, and Goofys Kitchen. They were all very nice but Wow very expensive.
We also ate at the Rainforest Cafe. For all you Disney Vacation club members they no longer give you the 10% off. We were disappointed in that.
We drove back to Las Vegas and spent the night at the Golden Nugget. Wow what a great hotel. The weather in Vegas was in the 80's and we went swimming! My husband even won quite a bit of money!!
So another Disney vacation over, time to plan the next one! Thanks for reading
