Well here goes. We stayed in room 3505 Lagoon View Concierge and I must say that even though we've stayed in GVC at the Polynesian we had never stayed in Lagoon View and the view was really spectacular!!! It really depends on if you want to spend the extra money for a lagoon view. We got a discount code through mousesavers and our stay was $1289.00 for 4 nights versus $1017.00 for GVC. with the same discount code. Our room was ready upon arrival. As always the staff was great except for 1 person and I talked with John Garcia the Concierge manager and everything was taken care of. The parks were great except for Saturday the 12th. The Marathon was on Sunday and even though it was almost impossible to drive anywhere except taking the monorail, everything was pretty nice crowd wise at the parks. We ate at Lecelliar in Canada. I think that's how you spell the name of the restaurant. The 7oz. filet was wonderful although a little on the small side portion wise for the potatoes!! But that's probably just me. The cheese soup with breadsticks was great although my wife didn't care for it!! Service was great too. After all of our visits, this is the VERY 1st time we ate here. We ate at Kona Cafe as we usually do for lunch and dinner and it was great as usual. In my honest opinion, lunch was better. We also went to Uno's and for the VERY 1st time in all of our visits, we honestly had TERRIBLE service!! Believe me this was a first and I'm sure it was just an off night, because usually we really like the food here!! Ate at the Lonestar off of 535 and had a great meal here too like we did on our last visit over Thanksgiving. Ate also at the Taco Bell like restaurant near POTC in Adventureland and had Taco Salads and honestly didn't care at all for it!!! Kind of a shock after hearing such great things on another board. Had room service at the Poly. and had really great hamburgers and fries even though a little on the expensive side, that's what you get for the convenience of room service. Ate at Pecos Bill's and as always had a great meal!! Ate at Prime Time Cafe and really didn't enjoy this meal which was a disappointment after having had so many great meals at this restaurant. Had burgers at Sci-Fi dine in theater and had a great time!! Hadn't ate here except for desserts since 1996. I'm glad we did!!! I just thought, that burgers seem to be a theme everwhere we ate!!! LOL!!!!! Had popcorn and various snacks throughout the parks and as usual, they were all GREAT!!! Concierge was great as always especially with Chief Dick. He hugged my wife and daughter and shook my hand and ask us where we had been!! LOL!!! He really is a wonderful person and is so great with all the kids!!! The parks were really great as far as crowds go, at least that's what we thought. The only down side was that it was pretty chilly during our stay and we only swam on Friday the 10th and even then it was pretty chilly out of the water!! Oh, before I forget, I have to mention Rosie who works at the PoolBar at the Polynesian, she is fantastic!! Great person, That's about it, I'm sure I'm leaving stuff out but I've talked long enough!!! Chip.

Sounds like a great trip. Two months and ten days from now, we check in although alas it won't be concierge this trip. I can feel that warm sun now and hear the drums and see the torches!

Did you hear any news on the refurbishment?

I talked with Concierge staff members and if you go to Tikiman's site, his information on dates of refurbishment are very accurate!! Chip.

I should have said the 11th for Saturday, not the 12th on my previous post!! Chip.

Hi Chip great report!!
I was at the Poly the weekend before (Jan 4-5) We left and went to the Yacht we were unfortuanately unimpressed with this resort! We also did not have a very pleasant experiance with certain cm I wondr if its the same one??!!

HI Chip we must have been there at the same time - 3527 garden view concierge, we stayed in lagoon view in September and it was worth it. I was a little disappointed with Ohana this time

Thanks for the report. I agree that taco place in MK is lethal. I had a taco salad there in Sept and was not impressed at all! What the heck is that yellow greasy stuff on top, it's supposed to be cheese???

We loved Ohana's - first time there. DH liked Boma better though.

Can't wait for May!

Sounds like you really enjoyed your trip. Thanks for posting this for us to enjoy.

Katholyn

What did you eat at Prime Time that you didn't like?

The entree that I had at Prime Time Cafe I think was an open face steak sandwich. I'm pretty sure it's new and the steak was a ribeye supposedly, but the BIG turnoff was some kind of sauce poured all over the steak which gave it a sour taste and was honestly gross!! Hope this helps for a future visit, Chip.
