Just got back from our family (10 person) vacation to BLT. We were in room 8544(15th) floor Grand Villa. We had a great time but are very tired. I am not much for writing but a few of the highlights.
A. The room was in great shape.
B. We had great weather but it was more crowded then I expected. I guess besides the wine and cheese festival going on it was European holiday time and I think most of Europe was at Disney.
C. No big surprises to think of.
D. Being on the 15th floor and our two upper bedrooms being on the 16 we had a door between them. This door opened onto the 16th and we could just walk to the TOTW lounge. The bartender said this was a flaw do to the TOTW lounge being an afterthought and since there are not that many Villas, they just left it as it was.
E. Having small children, the location of BLT was great. It was so nice being on the monorail and being able to walk to MK.
F. Our son and his wife went Tuesday to Universal to see the new Harry Potter stuff. They said it was so growded but the rest of the parks were OK. They have a Mears shuttle pickup at the Contemporary to take them there and back for a fee. It worked out really good for them.
G. When we got our last day instructions for checckout we had a special note that stated that we had been selected us for a special security audit so we could not use the resort boarding/checkin process. The problem was they selected 8 of the ten people in our party. I and one of our grankids were not selected. This note was on Disney Magical Express letterhead so I called them to ask why did they break up our family. They could not answer any of our questions and just stated we all might just as well skip the resort checkin and all checkin at the airport. They were not sure if we could still check our bags or what. I went to the area at the Contemporay to ask first hand. They were very nice about it and stated this sometimes happens. She checked all of us and stated we could all checkin at the resort and it worked out fine.
We did Hoop-Dee-Doo, Chef Mickey's and the princess breakfast at Norway. All were great and I have no complaints.
