Trip report RCI/Hawaii

It has two pools, but no beach. The golf course (no part of the resort) is between the resort and the ocean, but the oceanfront there is lava rock. There is a beach less than five minute drive away - people were body surfing and snnorkelling there too.

How were the pools? Plain pools or the kind with tropical plants, waterfalls, etc? Hot tubs? How were the pool loungers?

SIMJUN, how was the mauna kea trip? DH and I did this with a tour group in 2008 and we just loved it. Watched the sun set from the top (huddled in parkas, in the 30's at that elevation in AUGUST!!!!) and then star gazed at 9000 feet. Never saw so many stars in my life........it was one of the highlights of of our trip.

We enjoyed volcano, too. It was unbelievable....but I did not like the helicopte ride.....motion sickness got me!

Thanks for the info about RCI......good to know......tho' of course, we hope to stay at Aulani on our next trip to Hawaii!!!!:)

heathpack, sorry, didn't check out the pools or the loungers - we were in the ocean LOL!! There was a hot tub.

We loved the Mauna Kea trip, Dopynme, we went with Hawaii Forest and Trail and they were great. It was an experience i will never forget. We didn't do a helicopter tour as I was a bit unsure about being in a helicopter.

The night dive with Manta Rays was special too though.
