Sun. it is my friend and her sons last day with us before they head home early Mon. morning. I had planned a character meal at Confisco's for my family. This was planned originally when my husband was supposed to fly in for late Sat. night or very early Sun. and my friend and her son were going to fly out early Sun. Well at some point my husbands work schedual change, he had to monitor two on sales Mon. so he was flying in Tues. instead. Then my friend wound up getting a flight out for early mon. because she waited so long to get her airline reservations.
Anyway, my friend is not keen on doing very much, espcially character dining. I told her that I had this planned, and that she could come with us if she wanted, or I would take her son if she didn't want to go. They didn't have a ticket for the park for Sun., but I told her about the dining pass. We go and get her the passes, but then when we get into the park she changes her mind. No big deal, we decide we'll meet at the pool later, because I want to take my kids into the theme parks for a while.
Confisco's character breakfast is a buffet, and the place was basically empty. I guess it has just started offering it, so people still don't know about it. The food was ok, nothing great, no a huge variety, but maybe that will change if it gets more popular. The characters that were there were Cat In The Hat and Thing 1 and Thing 2. Needless to say they spent a nice amount of time with my children because there weren't many people. My 2 year old wouldn't stop follwing The Cat In The Hat around. The food wasn't great, but we sure had fun!
After that we went to Suess Landing and spent a long time there. We then went back to the hotel to swim. My older son had gone off on his own to ride the Hulk and Men In Black. He caught up with us at the pool later on.
After swimming, we decided to get something to eat. Now my friends son had been pestering her to go back to the outlets to buy a hat that he saw. He didn't get it when we were there because his mom said it looked funny on him. So everyday he brought up that darn hat, and how SHE didn't let him get it. So it is decided we will go back and get the hat, and eat at the outlets.
At some point as we were all showering and getting ready to go a storm (what a surprise!) blew in. This one though stayed for quite some time and it was torrential downpouring rain, with lots of lighting bolts. We go anyway and drive through this storm. He was shocked that only my son, his pal hopped out of the truck to go with him to get the hat. So we sit, and sit and sit in the truck. Finally my son comes back, Vin will be here soon he's getting the hat. Soon we she him running towards us in the pouring rain. Hmmmmm..... no bag. What happened, were they out of the hat? No, I didn't get it because mom made me feel like I looked stupid it it. Two mothers sitting there ready to flog a 14 year old. So back we drive through the torrential rain storm and heavy traffic because of it. We get back to PBH and go to Sal's deli for dinner.
We say goodnight and goodbye to my friend and her son, they have a 4:00am wake-up call. It has been fun!
