Here is my trip report from our 3 day cruise on May 31st - June 3rd.
Port Canaveral: We arrived at the port at 12:00 and it was a very smooth check in. We walked onto the boat around 12:30 and went straight to lunch at Parriot Cay. Lunch was great and by the time we were done, our rooms were ready. Our rooms were great and located on deck 7, cat. 5. Our room steward was Tara and she was Awesome! We had a balcony and this was only the 2nd time we have had a balcony during our 4 Disney cruises. We LOVED our balcony. We had one on our first Disney cruise but that was because it was my honeymoon. After we put our stuff in our room it was time to explore the ship. My mom and my brother's family were also onboard and this was their first cruise. The sail away party was great and then all the kids changed to go swimming. The toddler splash area was WONDERFUL. My son and nephew loved it. We ate at AP this night and it was great.
Day 2 Nassau: Well, the day started off with bad weather and it continued throughout the day. We didn't get any shore excursions (I am glad we didn't due to the weather) but we did decide to get off the boat after lunch. Oh, and I forgot to mention that this day in Nassau was a holiday so all the shops were closed
We decided to take a cab ride over to Atlantis. My husband and I have been there before and we really were not overly excited about Atlantis but we wanted something to do. We spent a couple of hours there and then decided to head back to the ship. Tonight we had reservations for Palo and then an appointment for a spa treatment. Palo's was wonderful! This was the best meal by far
The service was A++++ I would recommend this restaurant to anyone traveling on Disney. We have eaten at Palo's for brunch before on a 7 day cruise and again A+ service! Then it was time for our spa treatment. After 3 prior Disney cruises I have never had a spa treatment on board. Well, it will now be a tradition for me to get a treatment. It was Wonderful! We did a special called Ladies Night Out. It was $89 and it included: Champagne and chocolates while in the rain forest room, then a 25 minute back massage and then a mini facial. We enjoyed it so much that we booked another appointment for the next day
Cast Away Cay: Well, after 3 attempts to dock at CastAway, the captin was unsucessful at docking
I was so sad
During the 3rd and final attempt, we were so close to CastAway and you could see the cast members on the island pulling up with their golf carts getting ready for us to get off but with the current and the winds in the direction that they were we just couldn't dock. Well, the captin did try very hard to get is there. But what a disappointment. At least I have been there before but my mom and my brother's family have not. Disney did a good job of quickly getting onboard activites ready for this change of event. They even had a new print out of activities in our room right after the captin's 2nd attempt to dock. The weather was very windy and now it was time for my 2nd spa treatment. This time we did the special of 30 minutes of a hot stone massage and then a 30 minute facial. This was $119. I felt it was well worth it
Port Canaveral: We woke up around 7:10 and then went straight to breakfast at 8:15. Smooth disembarkation and we were in the parking lot at 9:20.
If anyone has any questions please let me know.
