We arrived in Orlando on June 21st and used *********** to get to from the airport to the WDW Swan. They also stopped at the Grocery Store for us to buy some essentials for the week. They were very good.
We arrived at the Swan around 6 pm and were given a studio suite on the 9th floor facing epcot with a perfect view of the fireworks. This was a great room. We ate our first meal at the garden buffet character meal. The food was okay but we enjoyed our first taste of disney eating with Goofy.
We spent our first morning at the grotto pool which was empty becuase most of the hotel guests were in a teachers convention all day. We had the pool to ourselves and my seven yr old spent three hours going down the waterslide and swimming.
We headed to the Magic Kingdom around 3:30 with umbrellas and got to use them right away. Since the rain started the park really thinned out and we got on about 10 rides, saw the parade and ate dinner in about 6 hours. It only rained about 2 hours that afternoon and we kind of enjoyed the break from the heat.
Monday was Epcot and it was HOT. I actually missed the rain. We spent the day going on all the rides and then had dinner reservation at the coral reef. The food is good not great BUT the views are fun. We sat right next to the tank and even had scuba divers waving at us.
After dinner we went back to the Swan and headed to the pool to cool off and then watch the fireworks from our room.
Tuesday morning we spent by the pool again more swimming and waterslides. The afternoon and night was spent at Hollywood studios. I really enjoyed the movie ride and indiana jones stunt show. Dinner was at the 50's prime time cafe and this was very fun. Mom our waitress scolded me for putting my elbows on the table. Pot roast for dinner and a brownie sundae for dessert.
Wednesday was a twofer at magic kingdom. Spent the morning and night there. Really enjoyed the night becuase it cools off and we got to see the dreams fireworks show and spectro magic parade. Also spent some time on the monorail since my son enjoys it. Before we went back we ate dinner at Bluezoo. Very good food spent $60 on a cantonese lobster but it was worth it.
Thursday we spent all day at the hotel pool. It started pouring rain for about three hours this afternoon. We walked to dinner with umbrellas to the flying fish cafe at the boardwalk. Also a great restuarant. I had sea scallops.
After dinner it was still raining a little bit but we walked to Epcot with our umbrellas. We caught the 8 pm showing of american adventure. I loved it but most of the people around me did not. As we walked out I heard people saying that was not what I expected and I fell asleep. I also like the hall of presidents in the magic kingdom. We caught the fireworks live at epcot this time instead of from our room.
Friday we went to downtown disney to see Wall E and eat at planet hollywood. Then we went back to the Magic Kingdom one last time. We got on all of my sons favorites. Splash mountain, thunder mountain, small world, winnie pooh and pirates one last time.
Dinner was at the Plaza at the Magic Kingdom. I did lose my temper here becuase i was hot waiting for a table outside for 20 mins eventhough they had empty tables sitting there that noone wanted to bus. Then when they seated someone before me that had only just gotten there (eventhough I had an ADR) I went a little nuts. The outcome was we got seated right away and the manager came over with special fastpasses to appease me for my wait.
It's amazing how quickly I calmed down when handed a fastpass. They are like gold. Never intended that or knew they could even do that.
Saturday we flew home.
