Here it is folks. I've started my trip report. I'll try to keep the naughty language to a minimum.
Saturday morning I awoke after a great nights sleep...after all..... Mom's snoring, while powerful, does not penetrate state lines. I say Saturday morning but we all know it was well after 10 am. Grateful for my magical expresso machine I made myself one powerful cup of coffee. I had stopped at Rix Cafe (at CSR) the night before to procure a tasty pastry for a quick breakfast, I also picked on the bourbon chicken I had saved from dinner the night before ....I ate it cold because I'm a firm believer that there should be some protein with my sugar at morning meal. I turned the tube on to watch the oh so cute and energetic Stacy and psych myself for the days ahead. Once fortified with food and a cute woman I dressed and ventured out to walk the grounds of CSR. It was beautiful. Our room was in the Cabana area, building B...to say it was convenient to everything would be an understatement. I loved it's location because it was soooooo central to the main building and the bus.It was not crowded at all because people were either working or at the parks. There seemed to be almost no children around. The peacefulness was palatible. I was thinking that Mom's gonna love it.
Speaking of Mom, she was due at 2:30 ish and I certainly did not want to miss being there when she got off DME...so I high tailed it over that way. A bus or two passed these were the buses picking people up. When a bus did finally arrive from the airport..Mom wasn't on it. I double checked but she's pretty hard to miss....so I waited some more. By this time I was ready to grab the first old lady deboarding the bus and call her MOM just to end the agony. Mom was lucky she was on that next bus.
There she stood, just like I saw her yesterday. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. I asked what she'd like to do first and she said: Eat! So off we went to Rix Cafe again and Mom got a salad and some water. I added a danish for the next day's breakfast. Mom immediately tried to pay me and I laughed as I boldly proclaimed...."I got it". (DDP was great).
After Mom ate we both refreshed our make up (don't want to scare the children do we?) and headed to Down Town Disney. Mom had only ever been to P.I...never to the MarketPlace area. I pointed out the Lego Sculptures, the new T-Rex Restaurant, and then told her dinner that night was at Fulton's Crab House. While Fulton's is not on the DDP, Mom really wanted lobster (as did I). Unfortunately it wasn't that good...in fact it was pretty bland...but the POTATOES!!!! OH MY GOD!! THEY WERE AMAZING!! That's right I am raving about a spud! They were small red potatoes that the waiter said were steamed and they where the creamiest, most flavorful taters to ever pass my lips. dessert was also beyond words good. Mom and I shared chocolate creme brulee...and I swear, I'd pass up sex for an evening for this delight...give me sex and the creme brulee and I'll know I died and went to heaven.
Back at the resort, Mom and I hunker down for bed. Tomorrow's a big day: Animal Kingdom and Epcot. Mom's never been to AK!
