Trip Report Feb 8 - 11

THANKS FOR SHARING - YOU TOOK SOME GREAT PHOTO'S - THE ONE OF MICKEY IN THE PARADE WAS PERFECT :thumbsup2

Loved your trip report. Yours is the best I've read. popcorn:: (I usually don't finish most reports because I start to snooze.) Great combination of different pictures. Thanks for sharing. I'm glad you had a good trip.

PPP sounds wonderful!

I love the sunset pic over Fantasyland:goodvibes and the castle pic with Walt and Mickey:)

I love the parties, the only one I've ever been to is my favorite thing at Disney ~ MNSSHP!!!

The rides are always walk-ons even though there are tons of actual people in the parks. They are just all so busy doing all the party stuff to ride a lot of rides:laughing:

Glad you guys had such a wonderful magical evening at MK at the PPP:wizard:

We like MHSSHP and PPP a lot. They are both so worth it to us. I can't wait to go back!

Not that I want to get involved in a breastfeeding debate, but I assure you, the person nursing their child is concerned about feeding their child, not offending people who view breasts as sexual objects instead of what they were intended for. ;)

As soon as you go eat in a stall where you take a dump, then maybe mothers will nurse their children in a bathroom.

It's a subject that can generate quite the debate, isn't it? ;)

DH and I have dueling cameras as we call them. We try to get multiple shots in the hopes that we will get a few good ones. :lmao: He was using our new camera and I was using our old camera. My goal is to master the new camera by September :teacher: or at least get close so that we can trade.

I really enjoyed your trip report :thumbsup2 Even short trips to Disney can be wonderful! Great pictures, too :)

Thanks for reading! Sometimes we feel like the short trips are a tease and just when we get into the swing of things, we have to go home.

Thanks for reading. Glad you enjoyed the report. I was worried that it was too long or even too short. I am still uploading pictures and thought that I may add others when I finally get them all uploaded.

Thanks again everyone for reading. :) :)

More great pics. Good trip report too. Also, what's up with the icons next to your past vacations???

I love the pictures!

I too was wondering about the icons in your sig. Do those represent your stays, some unpleasant?

Hopefully there are more pics to come:goodvibes

Still sorting through picutures. I guess DH was right ..... we may have taken too many.

About the icons....

You're right...bad experiences for us. I'll try and explain as quickly as possible.

The Contempo...........

We stayed at the Contemporary for DH's birthday one year and it was horrible to say the very least. I ALWAYS wanted to stay there so he finally agreed. We checked in late at night. After two tries, they finally gave us our keys. We grabbed our bags and walked to the very last room in the garden wing. The keys didn't work. :sad2: Back to the desk for yet another set of keys....and guess what? They didn't work either. We schlepped our stuff yet again and got to the room. We requested a a non-smoking. As soon as we walked in you could smell the ciggie smoke and it was awful. We both have horrible allergies and knew we could not stay there so back to the front desk we went. They they upgraded us and off we went once again. This time when we got the main door of the garden wing, it was locked. So, you guessed it, back we went with all our stuff. By this time DH was mad and I was ready to cry. They didn't tell us that after 11 p.m. the doors lock and there is a key pad that we needed to use. So, back again...this time DH's card could not be read by the key pad. Mine though was fine. By the time we got settled into our room it was after midnight. The next morning I made the mistake of opening our patio door since we now had a lake view. I turned my back for a minute and we had 2 ducks decide to march into our room. :crazy2: The room itself was really nice but DH is no where near ready to let me make a reservation there again.

For POR......

We stayed there while on a family trip. DH and I had one room and my sister, mom and nephew were in another. We requested adjoining rooms and were able to get them. I called ahead to see if there was any construction going on because my nephew is ADHD and at that time, his afternoon quiet time was critically important. I was assured that there was none and all would be fine. We got there and guess what, our building was being worked on the entire 9 days we were there. We had to walk around scaffolding and all we heard were saws, etc. It made for a very difficult trip with my nephew. Not only that, our refrigerators were both broken and it took DAYS just to get one replaced. We ended up sharing. My poor mother had to keep requesting towels since mousekeeping never left them. Speaking of mousekeeping, DH and I went back to our room to change one afternoon (it was quite hot) and to nap. Mousekeeping didn't even knock on the door...they just opened it and barged right in. Scared us to death!

ASMovies..........

During our second family trip with my mom, sister and nephew we decided to try the ASMovies resort for a couple of reasons. One was cost and the second was because we thought my nephew would enjoy the theme of the resort. It was a rough stay to say the least. We did get a preferred room but I still wonder today what made it "preferred." It was filthy to say the least. No where near clean. There was dust and dirt all over the place. The most important thing to me is a clean room. Neither of our room were anything but clean. When you moved the garbage can near the sink you could actually see the ring of filth. It was gross. The tub was gross....everything was gross. We put up with it (I cleaned it the best that I could) because we were not able to get adjoining rooms if we moved. We were there for Super Soap Weekend and the place was packed.

I am not one to complain about our rooms or the resorts in general. The only time I officially complained was after POR. I specifically called down there before we left to ask about the construction because I knew that it would be a difficult trip for my nephew. I was told there was none and we'd be fine. We got there and it was awful. Again, we could only move if we split up and we didn't want to do that.

Anyway, that's what's up with my icons.:mic: Sorry so long winded........
