We sailed the Wonder May 20th and followed it up with SSR for six days. We could not have been happier with the trip! DH had never been on a cruise and he is not a big Disney fan, but the boat won his heart and he can't wait to sail her again. The beautiful art deco details and the wonderful array of adult activities (Palo, couple's massage, rainforest room, waverunners on Castaway, champagne each night on deck, etc) were what did it for him. It was by far our most romantic anniversary ever. I was amazed that the little three night cruise felt like a full vacation. We had a category 9 outside stateroom. Very nice.

We stayed at SSR during Homecoming, but didn't buy the Homecoming ticket (too much extra expense on top of our regular tickets). We loved SSR! Truly charming and relaxing. We especially adored the Turf Club -- very charming. We played pool and drank the special Saratoga lager and ate their Saratoga chips with blue cheese (which I strongly recommend). Artists Palette has some tasty dishes -- I dig the Artichoke and Chicken flatbread and the Grilled Turkey and Brie sandwich. Recommend both. Slide on the High Rock Springs pool was swell. Massages from the SSR spa were top rate! I love the day spas here in LA and was glad to see that the quality of the massages at SSR really did measure up. Especially worth it when you figure in the DVC discount. I recommend the foot reflexology. Heavenly. DH loves to golf and it sure is handy that the club house for LBV course is right below the Turf Club. We loved having the boat for DD. We found it running way more often than every half hour at night. More like every 15 or 20 minutes. Also: Our room had the DD view, which was lovely at night. Very very pretty. I would just sit there and watch the lights and the boats gliding by. Very sweet. If you stay in Congress Park, request the DD view, near the quiet pool.

Happy to answer any questions.:D

SSR.
One day we hope to try cruising once I convince my wife she won't be sea sick.
Did you experience many bugs?

I think the Carribean (during non-Hurricane season) is generally calm and good for avoiding seasickness. The sea was VERY calm during our trip. And no stomach bugs. There were lots of reminders about washing hands posted on the ship and we followed those recommendations. I even carried that hand sanitizing stuff -- which I usually hate -- and used it at every opportunity -- to avoid both receiving or transmitting any germs. Didn't see any sick folks either. Seemed like a pretty healthy bunch!

We also loved our stay at SSR. The fact that Lake Buena Vista golf course is right there was a huge bonus for me! I love golfing. I also think that Downtown Disney is a big plus, gives you a lot more night time options during off season when the parks tend to close earlier.

Good points. It was really nice to stumble home so easily after a drunken night at the Adventurer's Club. And very nice to know that we could pop over to Ghiradelli whenever we felt like it for ice cream or whatever.

Thanks for the update, I still cant get enough info about SSR!

There's nothing like a combined Disney Cruise with a stay at WDW afterward. We did it last February and it was amazing! Glad to hear about your great trip.
