Trip Report - Day 4 - Final Day

All credit once again to DD for the photos (and the video )

Alarm set for 6.30am as usual, though I woke at 6am so got up and finished the packing before it went off. I woke DD when the alarm went and we made it down to breakfast just after 7am. Once we had eaten we were ready to check out, we lugged our cases onto the shuttle and headed for the park. It hadn’t occurred to us that we would have to take them through security, opening a case full of dirty clothes is a little embarrassing to say the least . Anyway, we left the two cases at the storage place and headed off for Buzz, embarrassment soon forgotten! Again we managed to get round the ride twice without a long queue, then it looked rather long so we moved on and did Pinocchio. Peter Pan was out of the question; we weren’t bothered though as we soon saw the IASW had just opened. We hadn’t yet done that ride and got on without queuing at all!! We then headed off to Autopia (a final fix was needed!) and actually queued for nearly an hour to get on, it was worth it though!

This is the reason why it probably wasn’t such a good idea to ensure DD had her camera with her!

We then did some more shopping, working our way over to watch the Tarzan Show; this was new to us and definitely worth seeing. There is even some ‘adult humour’ included at one point . We were ready to eat after this, so we headed off to Annette’s Diner so that we could both enjoy our favourite burgers once again. We cut out the milkshake and just ordered a bottle of water to share, and then when I showed our Dream Passes we were offered a free orange juice! This was the only time we were ever offered the appetiser, it meant the water went untouched and since we didn’t open it the waitress was happy to take it back. With the 10% off our meal only came to about €25 which I felt was very good value.

Time was passing quickly and we really wanted to ride on PM before we left, when we got there the wait time was showing as 30 minutes, as we only had an hour to spare I asked the CM how realistic this was. He claimed it was correct so we joined the queue, thankfully we did make it on (though no thanks to some very pushy foreign people ).

Working our way back to the luggage storage place we caught the end of the parade, before collecting our cases and heading for the train. We had not booked on the direct service and had to take the TGV to Lille, we managed to get on the correct train but found people sat in our reserved seats. We turfed them out and settled down. The train was very warm and we were glad to get off. We are familiar with travelling from Lille, having spent a break there last October, and there was just time for me to grab us both a baguette for the journey before we were able to check in. The journey home was uneventful and DH at picked us up from our local station around 9.45pm.

We had such a fantastic time last year that I really didn’t think we could match it. However, despite the crowds and the queues, and even the disappointing tea from Victoria’s it was a very memorable trip, the weather probably helped a lot too! I hope that you have enjoyed reading about it as much as I have enjoyed telling you about it!?

We've never seen Autopia open yet, as it closes during February. I never realised I was missing such a fun ride.

I think I must've missed something with Autopia Maybe it was the queue that put me off when we did it or maybe DD's driving I will have to go to my parents to see th vid as there'sa no chance it would play on my computer.

When you use indirect Eurostar changes how bad is it dragging the luggage around an extra station, is it easy to find where to go? Might consider it in the future if its not to much of a hassle.

Re: Autopia, DD tried to argue that her steering whel was on the "wrong" side too, but that she managed. I had to point out to her that it would still be easier for her as she wasn't used to it being on any particular side, whereas I was!
